Roasty and delicious. And remarkably easy drinking for being a beer that you’d assume to be heavier (considering it was made with the best bagels in the state).

I was surprised it was dark but it was like a black IPA- pleasantly surprised 👍🏼

Black IPA (?) brewed w/pumpernickel bagels from Surf Bagel blended w/malted rye, black wheat malt, and crystal malt. Spicy citrus hops, caraway seeds, and black pepper. Solid effort.

Not my style, but that is not a reason to down rate a beer. Crisp flavor, kind of like a porter, but not. Kind of like a stout, but then again, not. It is an intriguing ale that is complex and inviting, if you like that sort of thing.

Bitter dark chocolate with a touch of brighter floral hops and finishing with chocolate malt.

Still feels awesome to sit at a bar! Dark and malty and still so refreshing. 8 year untappd anniversary!
