World Wide Stout (2016)

Stout - Imperial / Double

Brewed with a ridiculous amount of barley, World Wide Stout is dark, rich, roasty and complex. This ageable ale clocks in at 15-20% ABV and has a depth more in line with a fine port than with a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer.

Very boozy, thought the booze would've mellowed by now

2016, barley and smooth. Not my favorite but the hang on is impressive.

Can’t believe this brew is 8 years old. Barley, heavy on the molasses, boozy. Slight oxidation, but this aged well overall.

Nice to revisit after so many years. It has aged well but still has a bit of heat. Not a bad thing for such a beast. Slight burnt sugar and toffee flavors. Some roast coffee thrown in. Actually kinda enjoyed more fresh on this batch.

Boozy and not unique. Can't say what I loved about it, but still a decent base. Vanilla oaked version is much better. Overall, I would say these are not worth the price. Another $2 and you have a bomber of BBB.

4 years old. More fruity than roasty. Maybe held too long.

This is still a very intense beer. The alcohol has smoothed some, but as feel it would still benefit from a couple of more years. We’ll see

I didn’t realize I had this for so long. Wish I had another bottle. So good. Has a prune-like flavor. Bought this in 2017.

Easily the best of the bunch. This would have gone better if I had actually cellared these properly.

Strong and boozy. A little sweet, roasty, and caramelly, but very boozy.

Still some heat considering the age, tastes like roasted malt / barley. Still holding up well.

Sweet aroma. Flavors are surprisingly smooth with a heavy boozy charateristic. Slight sweetness & undertones of barley. Aged 5yrs quite well.

Bonus points for a 5 year old classic but steve g. was right that some soy sauce had crept in. Enjoyed the choco raz treatment when blended with’10 Fort. Thanks for hitting the cellar steve g.!

Some oxidation on the nose, taste is chocolate syrup/cocoa powder/ash/raisin, ethanol but not overwhelming. Thin feel. Carbonation nearly gone. Held up well.

Bottled on 09/22/2016 and it’s held up well. Intense, of course, there is a bit of an alcohol burn it’s and most definitely a “sipper”, but good.

Not aging as well as the 2008 did after 6 years. Still a little hot and tasting almost like it's fresh. Maybe in a couple more years...
