Helles From the Wood

Lager - Helles

Brewed with a traditional malt bill of pilsner and Munich malts and hopped with prized Hallertau Mittelfruh hops, this classic Munich-style helles has a pleasant malty sweetness and spicy noble hop character. Then we added a layer of complexity by lagering it in a French oak foeder to add some subtle notes of vanilla, toasty oak and earthy spice. Prost!

2nd right. Light, pilsner flavors, but sweet, inoffensive, and woody.

Ahhh, good ole helles lagers. Makes me want to put on some flannels and split some wood for the wood stove. Lager-y, lighter, woody, and just good. Didn't expect anything less from Dogfish Head.

A nice crisp lager with a good malt backbone and a sweetness that balances it quite well. The 100th check-in of this tasty elixir

More interesting than a standard Helles, the subtle oaky vanilla at the finish is a nice touch.
