Lotta flavor...dark fruits, oak, caramel...but hot as hell. Gonna revisit next New Year's.

Definitely the best available on today’s trip to the booze house for ringing in the New Years. This is damn good!

Delicious rich chocolatey beer. Slightly bitter aftertaste taste like cacao nibs

Shockingly clear and light for something so strong. There is a significant alcohol bite but overall I get a barleywine flavor with lots of barrel. Age it.

Getting a lot of dark chocolate flavor this year. Not an over abundance of sweetness either, which is a good thing in my book. Solid all around.

Last bottle. Finally gonna write a review. Woody, port, barleywine, & scotch flavors with a cocoa powder aftertaste.

Very good. Although I think it could benefit from a year or two of aging. To me, it has a somewhat harsh alcohol taste. Definitely warms the innards.

Good stuff. Body's a little thin but the flavors there. 4.35

Poured a bit thinner than I was expecting but great roasty aroma of chocolate and some dark fruit. Mouthfeel a bit thinner than I was expecting too but great flavor. Sweet roasty malt and bitter chocolate with a hint of coffee.

Enjoyable but very boozy and not much else going on other than the barrel

Darkness, chocolate, malty, cinnamon & smooth. Celebration of 2 weeks plus at the lake home 🏡.

Boozy for sure, would probably do good with some time, but definitely a solid beer when you only have places like total wine to find good beers when you travel.

Sam Adam's buys out DFH, figured this would happen. Definitely needs to warm up to drop the boozy bite but, colder, you get more pronounced flavors on the nose. Drinks easier than 17% warm. Not bad for $10 btl

Coming in at 17.3% it’s smooth barrel tasting and finishing with chocolate notes not bad at all

Roasty and boozy. Chocolate and caramel from the base beer with nice barrel character. Thx Matt G.
