World Wide Stout (2019)

Stout - Imperial / Double

Brewed with a ridiculous amount of barley, World Wide Stout is dark, rich, roasty and complex. This ageable ale clocks in at 15-20% ABV and has a depth more in line with a fine port than with a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer.

Drinks more like a porter than a stout, very smooth. Wouldn't know by taste this is 16% ABV. Think age smoothed this out even more

Who knew the Pandemic was on it's way in 2019? What we knew then as this beer still tastes today, 16% ABV that's wonderful!

Found the remaining three of a four pack I bought five years ago in the basement. The label says “Ages Well”. I would agree.

Ages well is an understatement! Layers upon layers of dark fruits, cinnamon clove, chocolate bark and raisin bread exploding into sweet caramel chews. So much cherry and it is very port-like at 5 years of age. Booziness is almost completely gone. Stellar

Purchased a 4 pack July 2019. I had one then and sent the other 3 to the back of the fridge for a year. Just opened them and it was worth the wait.... really nice and mellow, still WWS, and chocolatey notes really came out.

Chocolate, dried fruit(maybe dates or raisins), and molasses notes with a kick to boot! Killer!

Maybe a bit too much bourbon, but who cares about that? Rich with oak and vanilla, a touch of cherry. This beer is awesome. Could benefit from another year in the cellar, but perfectly drinkable today.

Vanilla, barrel, oak, toffee, and really fantastic. I think of an imperial stout, this is it. And aged nearly 2 years just mellows that booziness

Call it nostalgia... I was there when they tapped a keg in Pennsylvania in 1999 when this debuted. 20 years before this bottle was capped.... Liquid perfection

Had to choose this over the coconut stout on tap. This was amazing. Would definitely recommend if you’re feeling something a little stronger than a normal stout.

Bottled 05/09/19… Easily the best one of the 8 WWS I had from 2019. I guess the aging really did a great wonder on this high gravity brew.

Three years did this beer a lot of good. Booziness is muted big time and has a good molasses and chocolate flavor. Glad I aged this!!
