Kernza Pils

Pilsner - German

With a restless desire to create what hasn't yet been imagined, we've teamed up with our friends at Patagonia Provisions to craft an innovative pilsner that aims to restore our planet with every sip. A crisp, refreshing German-style pilsner, Kernza® Pils is brewed with organic barley, organic Contessa hops, and Kernza® - a revolutionary new long-rooted perennial grain developed by The Land Institute. Bursting with floral notes, Kernza® Pils is bright and snappy, with a subtle spiciness thanks to the Kernza® addition. Every sip you take helps us plant more Kernza®, fight the climate crisis and brew more delicious beer ... we'll cheers to that!

Tasty if a little bland. Wheat, orange, stone. Brewed with an added special grain and maybe that does give it a unique flavour but all the flavours pretty light so it’s hard to discern. Medium-low acidity, quite dry. Fairly refreshing, not bad.

Nice pilsner. The Kernza wheat is not too prevalent, but does add some complexity. While not a lager person, this is a brew to enjoy on a summer day: crisp and clean.

I got it because I think it’s cool technology. But it’s better than I was expecting… a solid pilsner!

Crisp and sweet typical pils with some bread tones. Cool that they collaborated with Patagonia. Not sure why I want sweatshirts in my beer though.
