Biere De Coupage: Le Fermier

Farmhouse Ale - Bière de Coupage

Something old. Something new. The third beer in our Biere de Coupage series, Le Fermier (The Farmer), is a blend of a young saison and an aged golden ale. The young beer, a traditional, Belgian-style saison, was brewed with a rustic blend of malted black rye, toasted wheat and pilsener malt and fermented with peaches. The aged beer is a golden ale fermented with a farmhouse ale yeast then aged with our house mixed culture for 3 years in French Oak chardonnay barrels. The result is a marriage of bright stone fruit, tart citrus and light touches of oak.

A tarty peach beer. Imagine Festina Lente but more tart.
