French Toast Bastard Lee

Well, it's French toast and bourbon, what else is there to say? Extremely sweet & maple-heavy, though there is actuallya nice little bit of roasty coffee bitterness that hangs out on the back of the tongue to finish and stop things getting TOO cloying.

Snowbound Vanilla Porter Lee

Pretty alright. Straight-up vanilla porters aren't usually my thing, but the vanilla here isn't overpowering. It kinda cuts off halfway through, leaving more roast on the finish.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Lee

Super good. Fudgy, with a ton of maple syrup. The sweetness doesn't overpower though, which is very appreciated.

120 Minute IPA (2017) Lee

Age basically turns this into a barleywine. Noice.

Oktoberfest Lee

Not bad, a bit of a strange metallic taste though.

Dirty Bastard Lee

Not exactly a summer beer, but goes perfectly with these short ribs. They fall apart, sooo good.

S'alright. Slightly odd aroma.

Backwoods Bastard Lee

Been quite a while since I've had this stuff. Either my palate has changed/matured, or this is not as good as it used to be. I recall the whiskey heat not being dominating, as it sort of is here. Still very nicely sweet, layered caramel malts though.

World Wide Stout - Bourbon Barrel Aged Lee

2019 bottle. Nose is heavy on the bourbon, but also sweet fudge. Similar on the palate but with more bourbon and light oak. Has probably mellowed out nicely. Booze evens out as it warms. This is seriously good stuff, dunno how I avoided trying until now!

Harvest Ale (2020) Lee

Very nice this year, tons of grapefruit, bright, fresh grassiness, very green. Nicely bitter and crisp piney finish. Always like revisiting this one, it's a bit of an IPA throwback.
