Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio Walmsley
HCI. Found this old photo from just over ten year ago while clearing out my photoreel and suddenly realised this was the day that changed my life beer-wise. Ordered it not knowing what I was in for, was shocked and blown away by it. Love at first sip.

Mikk Shoreditch wild & sour day. Gorgeous. Exactly as I remember it. This holds a special place for me as it was one of the standouts of the lockdown Mikk Xmas box. I have such fond memories of that bizarre time, I’m almost embarrassed by my nostalgia.

Mikk Shoreditch wild/sour day. Don’t know if they radically altered the recipe but this seems incredibly sweet, almost oversweet. So much honey. Burn and boozy finish still there but it just lacks the balance it had previously. Disappointing.

Mikkeller Shoreditch wild & sour day. Beautiful, beautiful Cantillon. A majestic classic.

Back at the wonderful Jolly Fisherman sitting out the storm. Superb Danish Westie.

Årh Hvad?! / Hva Såå!? Walmsley
I honestly can’t believe some of the low scores and critiques of this. It’s basically a riff on Orval, but with less bitterness (and none of the excessive carbonation I’ve had recently from bottles of the classic). Deep, rounded, chestnutty.

Super refreshing, clean, crisp AF Pilsner. Could drink buckets of this.

Nelson Sauvin Brut 2020 Walmsley
Aged in my fridge for a year (showing great restraint). My emergency lockdown #2 purchase from Mikk. Beautiful. Refined. Elegant. Stunning. 750ml all to myself.

🎄Mikk 9. Hugely disappointing box so far but for a low abv this is absolutely superb. Tonnes of depth and loads of flavour.

LCI. Never heard of Konatsu, it’s not an Italian fruit btw, but it’s stunning. Bright, zippy, tingly. Wish I could afford a pint of it!

More like a low abv sour than anything else. Very crisp. Lime, lemon zest. Gorgeous aftertaste. Incredible for a low alcohol.

Wow. I’d not come across Impy Russian stouts before but this is an incredible beer, what a history! So big. Huge flavour, luxurious texture, boozy yes but not uncomfortably so. Incredible.

My first low abv Mikk. Incredible flavour, refreshing, very fruity. A surprise.

Simply stunning. One of the most elegant, balanced and layered beers I’ve ever enjoyed. Sweet, honey like, warming and without doubt one of the best I’ve ever had. I try to avoid 5’s these days but sometimes it’s just impossible. A masterpiece.

It’s a ten from Len. Well 5, from Steve actually. Utterly stupendous beer. Elegant, rounded, smooth, boozy. Coffee, butterscotch, vanilla, whisky. An absolute work of art and by a mile my beer of the year. A classic.

Henry points they way to dank hazy deliciousness. Subtle, juicy, not overpowering. Just stunning.

Gorgeous fruit bomb from the Mikk’s. Ruby red, spritzy, bags of flavour. The juiciness tempers the tartness.
