World Wide Stout (2023) Hickey

DFH still can make a solid stout even non BA. This was a great example with the prominent bakers chocolate and slight roast you get. At times I got some coffee essence. For 15.5% this drank exceptionally smooth.

Sang Bleu (2023) Hickey

A nice surprise considering I haven't had a Cantillon in quite a while and that it was acquired locally. Interesting blueberry character with the usual tart and funk factor. Good stuff!

French Toast Bastard 2023 Hickey

Came across this bottle at a local shop. I must say, not too shabby at all. The aromatics imitated french toast pretty closely. Decadent, but not overly sweet notes of maple, cinnamon, and vanilla frosting.

Utopias Barrel - Aged World Wide Stout (2021) Hickey

From last night. Found this bottle hiding in the back. Totally forgot about it. DFH did a superb job with the barreling. The bourbon was very evident yet wasn't boozy. Tasteful notes of cocoa, dark fruit, and caramel. Only negative was the thin body.

Wake Up World Wide Stout Hickey

Freshly roasted coffee jumped out of the glass. This went on to the sipping experience alongside hints of vanilla. What impressed me was the smoothness of the high booze that was more warming than hot.

Caraxes Hickey

I didn't know what to expect from this having zero booze, but it wasn't half bad. Tasted like a normal fruity sour ale. The dragon fruit was there and gave off slight pear also. Decent pucker. Cheers Priyanka R. Vikram V. 🏠 of the 🐉!

World Wide Stout - Bourbon Barrel Aged Hickey

Wowsers! This was top notch. The bourbon presence was equally balanced on the nose and taste. Fairly complex with notes of char, cocoa, coffee, and subtle licorice. Warming yet ultra smooth. This was a shocking 18%! You weren't kidding bro! Mark W.

KBS Espresso (2021) Hickey

Slightly more improved than the 2020 I had a few months back. The bourbon and coffee were again well balanced, but the flavor was a bit more pronounced. Another welcomed addition was a hint of cocoa I got at times. TY momma Weiskopf! ☺️

KBS Hazelnut (2022) Hickey

Love KBS and their variants. This newer one was well done. Like drinking a cup of hazelnut coffee with a dusting of cocoa on top. Only negative was the barreling being a bit faint.

KBS Espresso (2020) Hickey

Chili and stout tonight. Different year and a solid revisit. The coffee and bourbon were evenly balanced. Neither too loud or outdoing the other. Subtle oak. The booze was pretty smooth. Got the 2021 I'm looking forward to comparing.

Game of Thrones - Iron Anniversary IPA Hickey

Standard issue IPA, but good enough to celebrate GOT's 10th anniversary. A little overdue but better late than never. Floral. Mostly citrus namely lemon and grapefruit. A touch of pine yet very drinkable. Thank you Priyanka R. Vikram V. for finding this!

Panther Cub (2021) Hickey

Seems good things come in small packages or should I say bottles. This had the bourbon barrel up front ending with a balance of vanilla and maple syrup on the finish. Very tasty considering vanilla extract was used. Easy drinker too.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2019) Hickey

Season 10 finale of this awesome show. Needed a good brew to watch it with. Aged 2 years and still kickin' in the flavor dept. Coffee, maple syrup, subtle cocoa, and the barrel all accounted for. Yum!

All Day IPA Hickey

Cool to have an old school brew to remind me of when I first started drinking the craft.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Hickey

My last steak&stout pie warrants a proper pairing. Enticing fudgy nose. Taste reflected the same at first, but switched over to a smooth roasty coffee. Subtle maple sweetness rounded this out well. Barrel was lacked a bit. Still good!
