Vigneronne (2017) ßleð

Cantillon Vigneronne in a lambic basket is good style. Winy in flavor but vastly superior to a white wine. The fruit is here pretty overwhelming (in a good way). Towards the bottom there’s more of the classic Cantillon funk, and more barrel influence 🐳

Fou' Foune (2015) ßleð

Guess I nailed the aging here, already on first sip I knew the ultra high rating is justified. Just an explosion of flavors, there’s black pepper, Roquefort cheese, lime, salt, oak, and those sweet apricots still provide so much fruit even 9 years in 🐋

Upon opening this 5 year old bottle, a genie of ripe raspberries and strawberries is released into the air

Lou Pepe Kriek (2005) ßleð

Most exotic beer I ever had. For the age this was surprisingly sour and fresh. Almost wish it had shown more aging signs, as that usually brings complexity. Lots of cherry, unsurprisingly. There are also spices such as pepper and cinnamon, though faint 🐋

Fou' Foune (2019) ßleð

My second bottle. After tasting Zenne y Frontera, basically the gold standard, this appears slightly less complex. But that insanely fresh fruit along classic Cantillon funky smoothness, justifies upholding the ultra high rating. A hair below Zenne though

Nath (2019) ßleð

Nath is the brewer’s wife and each vintage features a new drawing of her from the kindergarten where she works. Incredibly balanced, not overly sour at all, the rhubarb adds a nice fruitiness. Spices and wood in the background. Subtle but so so classy 🐳
