Utopias Barrel-Aged 120 Minute IPA (2023) Kumar

This is a strange one. It almost tastes like a hopped Utopias rather than a Utopias 120. Loads of barrel, faint cognac note and then boozy hoppiness. Super caramelly. Thanks Justin !

120 Minute IPA (2018) Kumar

Not much more to say. A classic 5 year hoppy American style barleywine. Malty and rich. Faint sweetness. Quite good

Vigneronne (2018) Kumar

Absolutely lovely lambic. I love the flavor profile from the muscat here, it's so balanced. So smooth for a lambic of this style. Wine-like. Very aromatic. Many thanks Pub S. for sharing this amazing bottle!

Utopias Barrel - Aged World Wide Stout (2021) Kumar

Similar to when I drank this 4.5 months ago. A lot of booziness up front before loads of oak and dark chocolate. Bourbon notes here too. Roasty as heck. Unbelievably good.

120 Minute IPA (2019) Kumar

3 and a half years is the perfect amount of time for bottle conditioning for 120. Wonderfully floral notes with a boozy citrus note and bitter backbone. It's still an 18% beer but the time has, of course, mellowed it. 120 doesn't get better than this.

One of my favorite BA stouts ever. Fresher is better though.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2022) Kumar

A standard for a BBA stout. A classic.

Cantillon Grand Cru Bruocsella Lambic Bio (2017-2018) Kumar

Wonderful. First time trying Cantillon and it definitely didn't disappoint. Extremely balanced flavors with a funk that's pleasant.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2022) Kumar

Quite good. Tasty. It's a roasty brew due to the coffee added, but the maple cuts in there with a faint richness/sweetness. Tons of pure cocoa/dark chocolate. I don't get much barrel/oak at all. If anything, slight char. Long cocoa/coffee faint maple.

Utopias Barrel - Aged World Wide Stout (2021) Kumar

I still love this. Obviously it's lost a bit of roastiness since it's fresh, but I still get some. Pure roasty dark chocolate, toffee, char, brown sugar. LOTS of barrel here. Faint boozy note. Almonds. Looong finish, oak and rich chocolate.

Oktoberfest Kumar

It's an Oktoberfest. Average for the style. Tasty and refreshing as they always are.

Green Zebra Kumar

Super crushable. Really refreshing. The melon sweetness lasts the entire time and finishes surprisingly long and sweet. Great porch beer IMO. The tartness is light and not in your face, as it should be. Nice. Not my preferred style of beer though.

60 Minute IPA Kumar

Average for the style. Simple American IPA, a classic.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2019) Kumar

Just so good. To my palate the 2-3 years have given this brew the perfect balance of richness and roastiness from the barrel/cocoa. Little maple notes left but what remains is almost a baking spice note. It's not syrupy either, just right. Long finish.

KBS Hazelnut (2022) Kumar

Lovely mix of nuttiness and cocoa. It's full but not thick/syrupy. Don't get a ton of barrel or oakeyness, it's in the background blended with the hazelnut. Full roastiness. On the bitter side but still rich. Finishes long, nutty and bitter. Tasty!

120 Minute IPA (2018) Kumar

4 years is a great spot. Love the barleywine-like flavors it's gotten to. Deep maltiness and richness. Somewhat syrupy sweet but not overpowering. Lots of honey. Very delicious. Long malty rich finish. Thanks Sam!

Utopias Barrel - Aged World Wide Stout (2021) Kumar

Immediate notes of cocoa and roastiness. Dark chocolate is abundant. It fades to oakiness and caramelized sugars/brown sugars then I get vanilla and raisin. Boozy but not overpowering. Rich. Long oakey dark chocolate finish. Complex. Delicious!

Nitro KBS Kumar

Sooooo smooooooth. Velvety. Silk. Just the way a stout should be. Tons of cocoa and brown sugar mixed with vanilla and caramelized sugars. Light oakiness, and then a raisin note. The finish is medium with lovely cocoa notes. This is delicious as expected.

120 Minute IPA (2019) Kumar

Had to share this bottle with my wife so she could try 120 Minute for the first time. Same as last time: nearing perfection. It tastes absolutely wonderful.

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa Kumar

I like this. But I like regular KBS better I think. The adjuncts on this one take the flavors to a place that I think is slightly unbalanced. Cocoa forward and I don't get much cinnamon. Not a ton of oak or bourbon either. Good stout but not a great one

KBS Kumar

What else is there to say? Incredibly solid barrel aged stout, arguably one of the gold standards. Oak and cocoa nose. Lovely amount of chocolate and cocoa flavors hit you immediately, with big dark fruit notes. Slight oakiness. Medium finish. Balanced.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) Kumar

Unbelievably good barrel aged stout. Among my favorite beers ever, but is beat definitively by BCBS Special #4 2020. Sweet notes of maple (less than you'd think) and chocolate mix with coffee. Dark fruits. Better than KBS. Well worth the extreme premium.
