Fresh raspberry. Mouth coating. No sourness, not much anyway.

HORAL's Oude Geuze Mega Blend (2021) Haydon
As I removed the cage the cork exploded off with no help from me. Poured INSANELY carbonated. Took a long time to get through the bottle due to that. It didn’t fully hang together for me but still much better than some other geuzes I’ve tried.

Cantillon Grand Cru Bruocsella Lambic Bio (2017-2018) Haydon
The lack of carbonation divided all who shared this bottle but I got around it.

Rosé de Gambrinus (2020) Haydon
Deep, intense fresh fruit. Full display of what the berry has to offer with some nice light lambic vibes thrown in for good measure. A clean masterpiece.

Nelson Sauvignon / Sauvin Brut Haydon
Lots of malt, dry funk, some acidity…quite something.

SpontanCherry Frederiksdal Haydon
Red wine, leaning into the fruit and less body. Gentle acidity. I continue to be blown away by the Spontan series.

Oude Geuze Boon Black Label Edition N°5 Haydon
Just a fantastic straight down the line geuze. I could drink this all goddamn day. I can’t really fault it. I love this series from Boon.

Dark choc, soy sauce, coffee, bitterness, light vanilla finish with a long dark malt tail with light bourbon sweetness.

Crisp, dry, funky lambic. Also dry. Did I mention dry? This rules.

Glorious. Carrot isn’t dominant and the best parts of it sneak through some good funk and acidity.

Oude Geuze A L’Ancienne VAT 108bis Mono Blend Haydon
Didn’t check this in the first time. I’ve had it mentally marked as one of the best lambics I’ve ever had. Full, very dry apple and grapefruit body. Super dry finish with a bit of funk. This beer is amazing.

Some terrible takes in these reviews. Malty, slightly bitter, solid body and consistent backend. Delicious.

Very savoury. Strong yeasty backbone. Complex; bit sweet and bit hoppy. Balanced but not quite my tempo.

Beautiful body and mouthfeel. Overripe mango, bitter backbone. Almost like tiki cocktail syrup without the sweetness or booze. Excellent.

Extremely pongy on the nose. Like dank sweaty sportwear. The taste is much better. Delicate, light rhubarb notes but not full on. Low acidity. Amazing.

First check in for ages. Loads of coffee, malty finish with a bit of booze detectable. Doesn’t quite hang together but I could drink a good amount of it.

Despite being a big fan of Mikkeller I steered away from this for a while. I regret that. It’s really good. Bitter, sour, acidic, challenging...there’s almost citrus-like notes. Slightly skin-y backend. Personally I love it.

Some absolutely baffling reviews/ratings on here for this. It’s what it says it is. Lots of citrus bitterness from the bergamot, palate-tingling acidity and a bit of a lambic vibe. Perfectly in line with the rest of the Spontans I’ve had. Loved it.

Oregon Fruit Series Spontan Plum Haydon
Plum upfront followed by grapefruit-like citrus bitterness and an acidic, funky tail. Not my favourite spontan but excellent.

Lots of honey. The wine/beer thing doesn’t 100% work here. A rare miss from Mikkeller. Not bad but maybe not for me.

Beer Geek Vanilla Maple Shake Haydon
So much maple. Uber dark choc bitterness which bleeds into coffee. This is a savage beer but in a delicious way. Wow.

Rich dark choc, coffee, bitterness, bit of booze. Fan-bloody-tastic.

Bit sweet for my liking, but a well brewed drop. Malty raspberry with a massive body.

Kind of like a rice lager but...juicy. Weird beer. Very into it.

Jammy dark raspberry up front followed by waves of tart acidity and fruit for days. This is outrageous.

So overwhelmingly sour, Ribena body, earthy aftertaste and notes. Incredible.
