Iris (2021) K

The bottleshare begins... Strong starter. Bracingly sour/tart, fruity apricot, a little dry bitterness and a mineral faintness. Pretty, pretty good.

Oude Kriek Boon (2013) K

I'll drink a 10 year old beer, but I draw the line at an 11 year old beer... 😉 After all this time the cherry sweetness is still there up front before the funk comes along with an almost aggressive hit of acetic acid. Interesting but a bit unbalanced.

Sophia Lambic (2022) K

LCI. Thank you so much Docker B. for the taste of this. Bloody delicious. Complex mix of sour, tart, funk and fruit. Hints of white wine and apricots stonefruit for me. Perfect end to my quick visit to Besk for their 4th birthday.

Grolsch Premium Lager K

LCI. Forgot to check this in last week. Haven't had a Grolsch swingtop in ages. Still a nice lager.

Big Doink K

2nd old beer of the night, 10 months since it was canned. Bloody good given the age. Intense juice hops with plenty stonefruit, bit floral, some pineapple and coconut. Soft, sweet malt base and very slight balancing bitterness and ABV. Imagine it fresh!

Fou' Foune K

LCI. Thank you so much Docker B. for sharing this with us yesterday. Been on the bucket list for a while. Fresh and funky apricot, lightly sour with a drying finish. Restrained and complex.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2018) K

That balanced combo of big flavoured chocolate, coffee and bourbon is always so impressive in this beer. Been a while since I've had a KBS, but the quality is still there, especially if it's got 4 years of aging on it. Silky smooth, low ABV burn.

Kriek Boon (2017) K

Thought it would be interesting to age a very sweet 4% beer this long. Not so much. This still pretty much tastes of super sweet cherry cola. Still a nice beer but very sweet. Hope the 9 year old Oude Kriek I've got is more complex...

Iris (2016) K

LCI. Big guns coming out early. Massive funky aroma. Plenty of funk and bracingly sour, it finishes very dry. The fruity floral elements round it out nicely.

Curmudgeon Old Ale K

Last bottle. 😪 2014 batch (Best Before 5/12/2015). A very old Old Ale. I think I paid about $2.63 a bottle from Phoenix Liquor. Halcyon days. Still drinks like smooth toffee malt. No hint of the 9.8% ABV. Delicious.
