Hendrik

Loves big, bold beers but also ales that dare to be different. Experimental all the way.

Mikkeller SAS 10 Years of Aviation IPA

Had to try this before leaving after "missing out" on it at MBCC. Kinda weirdly metallic, bitter and too clean. Somewhat piney as well. Not a fan.

Barrelly A Stout

#MBCC24. Green Session. Unbalanced, weird, fruity malt beverage. Ugh.

Ramen To Bíiru Yuzu

LCI. Fruity with yuzu as well as lime and citrus clearly standing out. Quite fresh taste with a fitting wheat character.

Beer Geek Fudgesicle (2023)

LCI. Expected more fudge because of the name. Getting dark chocolate, coffee, bourbon and some licorice. Sweetish but balanced out nicely by a light bitterness. Maybe a tad thin.

12" Winale

Interesting brew with dry white wine influence infused with strong honey notes, almost leaning towards a super-thin, non-sweet mead. Fruity, fermented vibes with grapes, apple, citrus. Pretty much uncarbonated.

Castle Black Stout

#MBCC23. A last goodbye from the airport. Velvety, medium-bodied pour. Strong on the milk chocolate with vanilla and some lightly roasted malts. Sweetish and lightly nutty w/ hints of woodiness in the background. CPH, it was a pleasure. See you next year!

Drink'in The Sun (0.3%)

Great together with the spicy food. Hops are definitely noticeable and the fruitiness shines through pretty well.

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2021)

A very soft, mellow, tart, slightly sour fruit basket with lots of ripe yellow stone fruit such as peach, nectarine, tangerine and apricot. Also getting some pear. Nice.

Noche Buena

LCI. Powdery cocoa dust, bitter dark chocolate, shredded coffee beans and a surprising yet not over-the-top amount of tonka with a roasty, malty foundation. Lovely dry, super tasty, non-pastry stout without any frills.

Drink'in The Sun (0.3%)

Not the best wheat ale there is but nonetheless a solid AF. Wheat and yeast-forward with lightly fruity notes of elderflower and citrus. Has a malty base, yet also quite hoppy and even somewhat bitter.

Ramen To Bíiru Yuzu

A superbly refreshing, fruity take on a Belgian Blonde that has a nice lemony, yuzu-ladden character. Fits the Ramen very well.

Brewtrance

Pours w/ an oily, gloopy, thick and slowly lacing body. Nutty smell. Taste has hazelnut, milk chocolate, biscuit, caramel, coffee as well as some vanilla, making for a really sweet brew that also is warming & a bit boozy. Decent but just too sweet for me.

Quadzilla II

Highest ABV IPA I've had so far. As to be expected a really full, malt-forward brew that still has a noticeable fruitiness to it. Getting mango, orange and citrus notes in a strong, boozy, alcoholic package. Quite nice, velvety mouthfeel.

Japanese Rice Lager With Yuzu

Lemony on the nose. Initially tastes a bit musty. Sodaesque, a bit like artificial sweetener but not over the top. Has a nice bitterness to it accompanied by some soapy notes. Slightly spicy. Pretty interesting.
