Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2017) B

Beer of the Moment at Ashley's. Dark, bitter, boozy, and a little caramel, with a little bourbon after it warmed. Seven years old. As the waitress said, the bottle has had a rough journey.

All Day Grapefruit B

Light and too fruity, some grapefruit zest. Tastes like a radler or shandy, rather than a session IPA.

MI Pilsner (MI P1LSNER) B

A good Pilsner. Crisp, clean, nice mild bitterness.

KBS Spicy Chocolate B

A good desert stout. More sweet than I'd like, lots of chocolate. Not much heat, but some, offsetting the sweetness a bit. A little boozy. A little coffee too, I guess.

Red's Rye IPA B

This one varies a lot between batches, but it's very good this time. Malty, hoppy, bitter, with a nice rye note. Location is the old Wine Seller store at this same location. I used to buy beer there, going back to the previous owner.

Mortal Bloom B

A good NEIPA. Nice bitterness.

Oude Geuze Boon (2012-2013) B

Fairly dry, oak, a little sour.

The Cranfather B

Good fruitiness from the cherry and cranberry. Nice balance of mild tartness with mild sweetness. Orange peel might be there in the aftertaste.

Mortal Bloom B

Aaaaaand that's when I got banned from Rappourt... (not really) A decent NEIPA. Hoppy and somewhat juicy, not too hazy and not soft.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2018) B

Boozy and roasty, bitter, especially in the aftertaste, chocolate, and a little sweet. Needs to be sipped.

Red's Rye IPA B

A good IPA.

Backwoods Bastard (2018) B

Smooth and dark. Form last night.

All Day West Coast B

Checking in on draft. Still very well hopped.

All Night IPA B

Pretty good, and different. Not roasty, but dark with a lot of roast bitterness.

All Day Chill Day B

A good Cold IPA. Hoppy and bitter.

Solid Gold B

Got a couple freebies because our room wasn't ready yet. On draft, still just a basic lager.

Barrel Runner B

A decent IPA, boozy and strong. Free, because they gave me the wrong beer originally.

Daycap Lime B

Lime and light and slightly tart. A little malt as well. I got numb to the lime partway through, and then it's kind of meh.

Sweet Repute B

Sweet and strong and bourbon, but not boozy.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2016) 12.4% B

"Beer of the moment" here at Ashley's. Dark and very smooth. Coffee and chocolate and bourbon must have all blended together in in the last seven years, they aren't really separately noticable. 12.4% ABV isn't really noticeable either, but it's there.

Porter B

Years since I had this on draft. Nice and dark and roasty.

Green Zebra Watermelon B

Pretty good. Sour but sweet. Water melony too, I guess. Salty because why not?

All Day Crimson Sky B

Hour 3 of the winter storm, already 3 to 4 inches of snow. This is good, nice hoppy flavor, and a little maltiness. Founders is doing well with their All Day session ales. I hope that they keep their variety pack around.

All Day West Coast B

A "west coast" beer needs a west coast glass. A really good session IPA. Great hoppy flavor, and on the light side of coarse, but balanced with some maltiness.

Chocolate Cherry KBS B

Very good. Nice dark, roasty, and cherry flavor.

Kriek Boon B

Fruity with cherry. Pretty good.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge B

Very good, not overly sweet. Dark and bitter, with chocolate and coffee. Bottled Oct. 2020 and cellared for two years, so bourbon flavor from BBA is at a low level. 11% ABV, but doesn't taste boozy or alcohol.

4 Giants Tropical Treasure B

Pineapple and lemon, so sour instead of sweet. I should have read the description before ordering.

Wake Up World Wide Stout (2022) B

Very dark and roasty and deeply bitter. Pretty much the opposite of sweet. An intriguing stout.

Beer Geek Cocoa Shake B

Hope this is the right beer. So many possibilities... Very good stout. Chocolate, deep, dark, high ABV, thick.

Bottle Shop Series Mango Magnifico B

Sweet and nicely fruity. Only a tiny bit of heat at first from the habanero, but it builds up some. It doesn't taste 10%.

Ultimate Oktoberfest B

Found it in a bottle. Very nice bourbon flavor and aroma, smooth and malty.

A dry tartness. Blueberry flavor without much sweetness. First seltzer I've had that was decent.

4 Giants Hazy IPA B

I had to update the App just to be able to find this under Recommended. I'm such a Badge hound. Anyway, checked this in last night at Rappour as "Four Giants and the Haze Of Destiny". Gotta use the right name. Decent Hazy, but clean IPAs are better.

Centennial IPA B

Ironically, these *are* our cheap beers. Very good in spite of that, though.

Backwoods Bastard B

Decent. Boozy, and a bit malty. Not sure that it benefited from the cellaring. My earlier grading was probably low for how I grade now, but at five years, it's still reasonable. Also, sitting next to one of the Founders founders. Gotta document it.

Nitro Rübæus B

So much nitro head. Very creamy drinking while it's cascading.

60 Minute IPA B

Not as hoppy as I recall. Kind of plain.

Nitro Oatmeal Stout B

Had this last summer for the first time, but stouts are more of a winter beer, so wanted to try again. Still very good, very roasty and a bit sweet. Nitro creaminess.

4 Giants IPA B

OK, very good, nice and hoppy. Having on draft.

Frootwood B

Sweet and cherry, and slightly tart. Very good.

Curmudgeon's Better Half B

Pretty boozy and sweet. There's some bitterness that I think is from the oak barrel aging. I'm not noticing maple flavor, though.

Nitro Breakfast Stout B

Had to quick get a picture to catch the creamy nitro head. Creamy, somewhat roasty and dark.

Frootwood (2021) B

Oh, this is very good. Strong cherry flavor, nicely sweet. A little bitterness from the cherry skins.

Mildly sour, and somewhat salty. Light flavor.

Scarlet Dawn IPA B

Fairly malty and not as hoppy as I'd expect for an IPA, but pretty good. Nice flavor.

Pinker than it looks in the pic. Light strawberry flavor, not much else. But the strawberry tastes real, not artificial, so that's good.

Finally able to get this, and it's at a cider house. Very good, smooth and creamy.

Somewhat flavorful. Not as bourbony as many BBA are.

Moon Rambler IPA B

OK, but not especially hoppy. Flavor seems a little off. Maybe I just don't like milk sugar.

KBS Espresso (2020) B

Mostly dark and bitter. Not noticing much in the way of flavor notes. Boozy, I guess. Disappointing. Seems like there's no residual sweetness, maybe that would help.

90 Minute Imperial IPA B

Malty and hoppy. Flavor built up on me as I was drinking it.

Big Lushious B

Very thick and dark. The raspberry and chocolate are well balanced, but not as pronounced as I was expecting.

Red's Rye IPA B

Weird looking carbonation, looks like pop. Beer is OK, but I've had better since my last check-in of this. Other check-in was 2015, and I toasted my own check-in. What a newb!
