Saint Lamvinus G

Zwanze Day is far behind us but there’s still Cantillon on this rainy afternoon in the 2204. Still a favourite.

Saint Lamvinus (2023) G

Seemed a little more vinous the last time I had this (a 2020 blend) but I have very few notes, from the farmy nose to that tart finish.

Gueuze (2023) G

This is the business. Farmyard nose with that classic gueuze funk.

Zwanze 2024 - MMXXIV G

Happy Zwanze Day! Kelpy, salty and I don’t know, iodine hitting you in the nose and all the way down. It’s a meal of beer, although the flavour is a lot lighter on the mouth than the aroma would suggest.

Geuze Mariage Parfait G

Been thinking about Belgium a lot lately so luckily we had this bottle on the beer fridge. Tart, earthy and just the puckering thing I needed this evening. (2018 edition).

50°N-4°E G

Ok, this is something special. Our new friends have shared this complex drop with us. Surprisingly light for a boozy concoction.

Cuvée Saint-Gilloise (Champions) G

Here I am in a car park in the St. Gilles region of Brussels trying the 2023 release of this for the Zwanze Parade. Grassy, tart and super fresh.

Magic Lambic (2022) G

Funk for days, we had to get a bottle of Magic after the tour. This is bliss.

So balanced and so fruity without punching you in the face. Love it.

Single Barrel 2 Year Lambic G

First drop on the tour. Sweet and lightly sour, and lovely after listening to the history of lambics for an hour or so.

Classic Gueuze G

Damn. Here in the mothership, drinking the absolute business. This dry boy could keep me company for a while.

Actually, "Die Hard" Is A Christmas Movie G

After wandering Copenhagen all day in 3°C, stumbled upon this outdoor shipping container street market (a “gathering”). We’re all sat on benches by the river like it’s summer. So this beer seems citrusy and appropriate - even if calendar says otherwise.

Vinterkringle G

After an unexpectedly long day of travel, we’ve made it to the mothership. The OG Mikkeller and a pretzel beer. Bliss.

Spontantripleblueberry G

Big beautiful berry and fruit taste, and pucker up buttercup because this is a tart friend who’s packed nothing but a toothbrush for the weekend away. Sublime.
