Celebrating my son passing his driver's test. And hoping to alleviate some of this back pain. Initially very strong coffee notes but after continued sipping I can taste more of the spicy dark chocolate.

Mortal Bloom Hodge

More bitter than a usual hazy ipa. Not very hazy either. Meh.

Devil Dancer Hodge

Rich and complex. Bitter but more full bodied than a normal IPA. Merry friggin Christmas.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2022) Hodge

Overwhelmed by notes of coffee that I'm supposed to be duped into thinking is chocolate. After just having CBS, this is somewhat disappointing.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) Hodge

Sweeter than I expected. Rich and boozy but smooth. Chocolate, coffee, maple syrup notes.

Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout 2023 (Mothership Series) Hodge

Thick dark rich and almost chocolaty but bitter. Almost feels like a porter with slight smokiness. I probably would have never tried this had it not been in the advent calendar pack.

The Cranfather Hodge

Sharp cranberry flavor with a bitter aftertaste. Not unpleasant, but not sweet. Refreshingly different.

Mothership Series Barrel Aged Blueberry Braggot Hodge

What a nice blueberry beer! Almost sour, but not tart or funky. Slightly bitter and malty. But also fruity and sweet.

Mine tastes like soap. 😭 After that taste dissipates, I'm left with a lovely sweet margaritaesque fiesta en mi boca. (Took points away this check in for the soap flavor).

Had this before but I don't remember it having chunks in it. Is it supposed to have a little flakes suspended in it? Hmmm. 🤔 Still tastes okay I guess.

The Headless Gourdsman Hodge

Starts out sweet and boozy and then deescalates to a low bourbon essence note. Hard to describe. Spices are muted.

KBS Blueberry Hodge

Very sweet! Blueberries are unmistakeable. Boozy sweetness, coffee notes. maybe too sweet, but definitely worth a taste.

Frootwood (2022) Hodge

Tastes like a hint of sour berry with a malty backbone and infused with a boozy essence. Lightly sweet and highly drinkable. Delightful!

Barrel Aged Peanut Butter Stout (Mothership Series) Hodge

Very little peanut nose to this. Hint of booziness. Taste is thick and dark with boozy bitterness at front with a peanutesque finish. I'm not sure I'd know this was a peanut butter stout if it wasn't on the label. Still good, though. Nice start to Advent.

Barrel-aged Blueberry Braggot Hodge

Nose has a slightly funky sour character to it. Taste is strong bitter blueberry with a sweet/sour lingering flavor that isn't wholly unpleasant.

Ginger, Spice, Barreled And Nice Hodge

Very sharp ginger taste. Would never guess it's a barleywine. Clean. Nice. Spicy.

Snowbound Vanilla Porter Hodge

Bitter. Vanilla is on the nose but not the mouth.

4 Giants IPA Hodge

Something strong enough to help knock away these aches and pains. Very piney and strong bitter IPA flavor.

Green Zebra Watermelon Hodge

I guess this must just taste like the original green zebra? Noticeable watermelon scent and tart sweetness. Great for a walk in the woods on a hot humid summer day.

Green Zebra Pineapple Hodge

Light pineapple flavor with a sourness. Light.

Green Zebra Mango Hodge

Subtle sweet mango. Not sour like regular green zebra.

Tastes like cream soda. Sweet and light. Delicious. Liked whipped topping in liquid form. Vanilla-y. Yum.

Dry smoky porter woth coffee undertones but a sweet finish. It's ok.

Boozier than a typical wheat wine. Sweet, weird. Interesting. Not sure what to make of it .

Snowbound Vanilla Porter Hodge

Too much coffee for my liking. Slightly smoky and bitter. Vanilla is scant.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Hodge

Disappointing. Overly strong coffee with maybe a hint of dark cocoa in it and absolutely no maple flavor that I can discern. Completely lacks sweetness that you would expect for a beer claiming to taste like fudge.

All Day Vacay Hodge

Like watered down bud light.

Barrel Runner Hodge

Not sure if this is still good or not. 2018 edition. Tastes to me like a home brew gone amiss. 1st half of the pour was crystal clear. 2nd half completely milky. Kind of weird. Probably wouldn't go out of my way for this.

KBS Hazelnut Hodge

Very strong hazelnut flavour combined with kbs signature booziness. Hazelnut definitely makes this more palateable. One of the better kbs beers.

Has a weirdness to it that the others didn't. Still pretty tasty though. I think prickly pear is my favourite.

Detroit Spite Hodge

Like a mixture of peppers in a light beer base. Lacks complexity or depth. Diluted pepper juice.

Founders Old Fashioned Barley Wine Hodge

Super potent! Orange zest imparts bitterness not normally found in barleywine. Very strong bourbon. Barleywine flavour drowns in the booze.

Velvet Rush Hodge

A coffee punch to the face that ends with a chocolatey smoothness with a hint of vanilla.

Bottle Shop Series Highball Drifter Hodge

Nice complex mixed drink flavour without too much booziness.
