Found a lost can in the fridge. Time for a lost May-o-ween movie.

Another Lugosi movie I've never seen before. This one is from 1933, and he plays a menacing murderer in a turbine. I bet Bela Lugosi would have been a great comedian.

A Bela Lugosi movie I've never seen before exists, AND it has a 4.3 rating on IMDB? Is it my birthday?
Who's that at the door? Why, it's the headless horseman! This movie has a 2.1 out of 10 rating on IMDB so I'm pretty sure I'll love it.

Grapefruit in the morning, I must be getting old. Good time to listen to End of the Harvest by Neurosis. 🤘🤘

I somehow missed this seasonal release last year, but had a pretty good idea where I might find it. Pairing with The Earth Dies Screaming. Happy May-o-ween!

Vintage 2019;; been in the back of my fridge since 2021, a gift from my aunt Ramona. She said this was leftover from a Halloween hay ride in Boone, 2019.

Got tomorrow off. I'm looking forward to just finding a taco truck and a park and having a picnic.

In 1924 the first Zeppelin airship crossed the Atlantic, taking 81 hours to fly (fly?) from Germany to New York. So, pairing this quittin' time beer with the first Led Zeppelin album. And rye.

Another WTF find. I think this is over five years old but there's still a little fig taste. The Bumbu XO is good, and I normally don't do rum.

It's a good thing there weren't camera phones 30,000 years ago because most of the cloud would still be filled up with Neanderthal Porn.

Pairing with a documentary about George Washington's early days as a British soldier in Colonial Virginia.

Orange, pineapple and wet socks. Is this how this style dies? Or is it Devilution? Pairing with Blessed Black Wings "Brother in the Wind" and bourbon.

This is a nice hotel, built 101 years ago and on the National Historical Registry. Going to try and boil a squirrel in the coffee machine. What could go wrong?
Stout with coffee and honey? Yes please. I have no idea how old this bottle is. Years. Months even. Still tastes great and would probably make it until the end of time, when everything will all start over again, again.

Time for a black triple IPA from Belgium that's at least five years old? Hell yeah! Reminds me of an aged port with hints of raspberry and soy sauce. There's a sweetness that fades and leaves an alkaline minerality on the plate. Good, but past its prime.

Thank you for the road beer Dannie H. I've already started your next care package. Pairing with VOIVOD! #MetalMonday🤘🤘

Zero foam. The bottle says it is from Belgium. I like a roasty porter and this one, almost to the point of being burnt but not bitter. Ends lightly sweet. Paired with Red Breast 12 and Horrified!

Pairing this strong beer with sips of Eagle Rare. Need to get up in the morning and dig out the car. Pic is from earlier tonight. Wife made White Russians using eggnog instead of cream!

Thank you Dannie H. for bringing this bastard to me. This is the beer that got me hooked on Barrel-aged beers. So good and so bad. Dannie you rock! Pairing with side two of Paranoid. The best side two ever.

Here's another one I haven't seen in a few years, thanks to a certain Iowa beer distributor who I shall not name. It's amazing what you can find just across state lines. Pairing with a Sanford and Son marathon.

Harry has learned to draw the life-energy out of Christmas tree ornaments, using the powers of his paw and his mind. He is doing it right now. Go Harry! Never been a fan of vanilla porters because they taste like candles. This is one.

My mother-in-law sent us two bags of whole bean coffee from Raven's Brew in Washington. Just sitting here smelling this coffee while I drink this beer.

Happy birthday Paul Schafer! Paul is known for being Dave's weirdo bandleader, but in 1986 he organized a concert at New Orleans' legendary Storyville nightclub starring Fats Domino, Ray Charles, and Jerry Lee Lewis. Rewatching now.

Wife left the windows opened and now I have Night Chills. Good reason to drink a porter. I haven't seen this one in Iowa since the days when Founders was still considered a craft brewery. Still good.

This year is the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who. I'm watching old Tom Baker serials because he is still the best actor to play the Doctor. Deal with it.

An 18% beer is illegal in Iowa, so I won't say who I got it from. Thanks for the share, mystery outlaw! I made sure a bunch of people got to try it.

Harry is in trouble today for getting into a bag of food that was in the closet. How much did he eat? Only Harry knows. But he's not in trouble with me because I'm #TeamHarry.

Having one now, but also an LCI from ten years ago. This was a good beer to have on hand during an eleven hour shift slinging pizza next to a 666 degree oven.

John Larroquette was the perfect choice to play Basil Fawlty in the American version. Too bad the American version sucked. Pretty nice roasty light-bodied black IPA. Could use more hops.

Nice day of driving around with the A.C. on of course. Picked up some Missouri shelfies, and some snacks you can't get in Iowa.

This is a great bar. Pairing with Four Roses Small Batch and Misfits on the radio.

I like it more than I thought I would. Tart lime makes up most of the taste but the barrel kicks in at the end. Pairing with a fresh bottle of Milagro Silver tequila.

Happy 93rd birthday to John Astin, aka TV's Gomez Addams and Buddy Ryan! Hang in there just a little longer, Mr. Astin. Your new robot body is almost ready for your old brain!

Weird salty pineapple soda with an odd grassy note. Speaking of salty, three years ago today we were supposed to be sharing the stage with the great Today is the Day and Child Bite. Oh, hey look it's 2020 🖕

Ping's nose has now been blasting KREATOR non-stop for a solid day. Now I'm not saying my cat is the reincarnation of Pink Lips, but the vet did estimate her birthdate to be around the last week of May, 2022. Same week Pink Lips' account got deleted...

Sweet and sour and bitter. Can should come with a roll of tums attached to the side. Not my thing but Harry is here to make sure I am okay.

Thank you BellinghamBeerQuokka for reminding me that I had this record. Coady will be awesome with High on Fire and I'm kind of jealous boss that you get to see him drum with them! Beer is bleh.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2019)
Founders used to be one of my favorites so I had to try this for the nostalgia. Everything has faded except for some sugary sweetness.

I should be asleep but Anna Karenina with Greta Garbo is on and I've never seen it. Also anytime I set something on this hammered metal coffee table it sounds like a goddamn cannon went off.

In 1972 experimental composer Malcolm Clarke was commissioned by the BBC to supply the music for "The Sea Devils". The electronic soundtrack he wrote was so bizarre and alienating that he wasn't asked to do another for eight years. Love it. Watching now.

Happy Beach Week my friends! Enjoying it with one sea-foamy gose, a bunch of Untappd errors and "The Ambassadors of Death", 1970! This is the 2092 vintage of this beer but it's not on here yet.

"The War Games" is a ten episode serial but it's the last story with Troughton, Jamie and Zoe. My favorite TARDIS trio. Watching it to the end.

On to "The Tomb of the Cybermen", 1967. A benchmark in early era Doctor Who for the sci-fi story, the ominous soundtrack and especially the chemistry between Jamie and the Doctor.

Sauer, but malty, estery yet minty. This beer has no reference point. Just gonna drink it and move on... Tom Papa on Netflix. Pretty good stuff.

And on to the Patrick Troughton era of Doctor Who (1966-69). The "cosmic hobo" versus The Power of the Daleks!

In 1979 Universal produced their second film based on Bram Stoker's Dracula, starring Frank Langella as the King of Suck and the first Dracula that had a hairdresser. But Edward Gorey contributed to the sets and that means it's required watching.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2022)
Night 4 of 100 years of Dracula movies. So far Dracula has been an asshole in every one. Tonight's is a low budget Turkish one from 1953 that I've never seen before, "Drakula Istanbul'da". Watching a really bad copy of it, but I am fangful nonetheless.

Sweet simple syrup and lime and bubbles. A splash of Mezcal made it weirder.

Cool bar! Good music (Townes Van Zandt now) and there's a Rush pinball machine? This beer is super sweet and lacking much of a habanero presence.

Opened this and then saw the date on the cap. 2019. A terrible year but not as bad as 2020. Mostly oatmeal on the nose but getting licorice smoke and bitter covfefe flavors. Mmmm covfefe... 2019 was the year I had to give it up.

I've heard some people say they don't like kettle chips because they hurt their mouth. These chips have enough flamin' hot red powder to bloody your nose too. At only 1200 calories per bag, these were great with a dollop of party dip. 4.25 for the chips.

America needs Craig Ferguson now more than ever. The robot skeleton, the horse that isn't really a horse, the Jay Leno fly. All of it.

The house is filled with the smell of Hungarian stew and the sounds of Hammer Horror Marathon 2021, with "Horror of Dracula". The beer surprised me with a fresh toasty hoppiness, sweet floral notes and a balanced bitterness.

From last night. The first show full of sweaty stinky punks that I've been to in over a year and a half. Ten bands, ten bucks, in a skate park. And all of it in tribute to Rob Ogg.

Reminds me of getting hammered on pitchers of margaritas and waking up to heartburn and blackout stories. The good ol days! I see the butterfly on the label has been kicked off of its lime perch compared to older vintages' art .

That black lime really comes through. Salty and sour. Paired with Sergio Aragones' art. Former Mad Magazine artist, and the fastest cartoonist of all time.

Paired with one of my favorite Star Trek episodes, Balance of Terror, aka my gateway into submarine films. This beer is the roughest barley wine I've had. High gravity burnt bitter hops.

It's full of oats. It says so on the can. It also hits the citrusy tropical fruity notes and creamy smooth mouth feel that ppl want in a NEIPA. Soft. Drinkable. Cheap. Proceed accordingly. Lori G. I tried to copy your pic.

Time for another strong beer. I will sleep well today. Some art by Frank R. Paul. Wish it was on this boring ass bottle.

One hundred years ago the British sub HMS K5 sunk and all hands were lost. Happy Centennial! Pretty hoppy, maybe a lil sweet and fruity. First time having this.

1 am seems like a good time to have a breakfast stout. Breakfast stouts are better than breakfast burritos or god forbid breakfast pizza. Drinking to celebrate Harry's clean bill of health today. He doesn't have a parasite, he's just extreeeeemely hungry!

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2020)
Alcoholic burnt chocolate. Breakfast and beer are my two meals a day and putting them together is like having big meal to start a short day.

The 2020 version of the bastard that got me hooked on barrel aged beers, thus taking a bigger bite out of my booze bucks. He's still a bastard.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020)
Straight up big fudgy aroma. Tastes like filter coffee and chocolate cake mix. Hints of booze and vanilla. I don't get any maple.

I've been watching Supernatural since the day the pilot aired. The first 5 seasons are good but after that it's spotty. I still find something to love about it sometimes. Tap Sam for deets.

Funky complement to this beast of a cheese spread. Not very tart.

This is good for breakfast or lunch, but the sweetness and artificial taste make it a weird night cap. Also, fuck that fish.
