The faint juniper and orange peel notes give it a note of gin. Pretty cool. 🌲🍊🇳🇴

Bottled 10 July 2023. I love KBS, but this a 5 for me because of the Michigan blueberries. It’s a fresh blueberry flavor, not a sweet sugary blueberry. It’s perfect w the coffee bean notes and barrel aging, and a subtle blueberry flavor is good in beer.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2019)
Pre-pandemic KBS hits on all marks. Plus, drinking this while playing Sjoelen is the way to enjoy it fully. 😉 🇳🇱

As Dogfish was going for, it is a Paloma crossed with a golden ale — the usual high-creativeness from DH. It’s super refreshing, and super easy to chug a lot of these in no time. Beware that 8%! I highly recommend it.

Excellent Tripel ale with agave nectar (!) - if I didn’t know that was in there, I’d say there was a subtle sweet-note difference in this Tripel that I wouldn’t be able to pin down. Innovative idea!

Bruocsella 1900 Grand Cru (2002)
Cork indicates bottled in 2001 (see photo) - I know I bought this in 2002, 20 years ago, wow! From my beer cellar. In the glass, after 20 years, the bubbles are super active, still! Cellar-smell, dry, sparkling wheat-grainy, yeasty, earthy, sour/sweet. 🍾

Brewed in late 2020, got a crowler on 12-30-2020. One year later, out of the crowler it’s still very fresh! Wish this could be a bottled offering from DFH! Solid sour w light pineapple and a just a tiny hint of cinnamon. Balanced. 🍍

Wow. Amazing French Toast flavor, not overpowering- just right.

Amazing, not as sweet as expected, some dryness (the cocoa?) which really balances this big beer.

Hazy plum color, creamy plum and ginger flavor, and a bit of sour beneath it all. I could drink a lot of this.

For the record, this is the first year (2020) of this beer, I see from the DFH 2021 schedule they plan to release a 2021 version. I’m glad bc this is really good.

Great balance of all these flavors, no one thing overwhelms. DFH pulls it off again! At 6.5% it’s sessionable, and really good on a cold winters day. ⛄️

“Imperial cream ale with turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, star anise, oats cardamom and vanilla bean.” Kudos to the brewers for pulling this off!
