Baked cherry pie for miles, with some fresh sliced Granny Smith crunch

An okay beer with an overload of Rue Gheude funk that makes me love it in a nostalgic way but not a skilled beer way

Lotta skunk dank at the cork pop thankfully dissipates, more blonde caramel than usual with a tart and funky body, melon and gooseberries, and slightly dry finish

Less rotten ground beef this time, not as much Vicks cherry as I remember, vanilla sorbet with cherry sugar perhaps, and tart like drinking cherry martinis that were upchucked

Can't say I've ever seen this on the menu at a restaurant in Canada, wow

Blåbær Lambik (Blueberry Lambic) (2022) M
Smell of kalamata thankfully disappears and is replaced by that great Rue Gueude funk, though the overripe blueberry flavour and underripe blueberry tartness is quickly dominated by a tannin monotone that I'll be trying to scrape iff my tongue for months

Almost paint thinner nose but the flavour of amazing lambic and then that rum and cognac dried fruit aftertaste... Lovely. 4.6

Punch in the face cherry pie spice aroma, surprisingly light almost watery body and much less in the flavour, dancing effervescence from the added sugar, a cherry champagne of sorts

A cellared aroma rich in cereal and caramel, not so much in the flavour, not so acidic but still bright, with some rind and bitterness

Loads of oak, hints of port, a bit gritty, completely flat, and a bit of a chore to get through but very interesting

Lovely, could drink this for days. Yes I dumped it last time I was here but palates mature, let's try to forget.

Oude Geuze Boon à l'Ancienne - VAT 92 Mono Blend M
Brewed in 2014 and sure has that decade-old caramel coming through, apple, clove, musty wood, and a lot of bitterness for something this old. Thanks nate

Take mouldy grapefruits and boil them to a nectar. It's not terrible but you feel ashamed to admit you liked it slightly. 0 for 2 on this series.

Magnificent, almost the Früli of fresh raspberries, with a touch of that lovely Belgian funk. Amazing but not worth the markup at $80 though

Cuvée Saint-Gilloise (Champions) (2019) M
Plenty of hops which overshadow the magnificent lambic

Ok now THIS is perfection. 3 Sep 2018. Four years on and it's so good. Forget what I said about this...two weeks ago. And in 2016.

Bit of an overdue ground beef off note in the nose but otherwise a decent and not too cough-syrupy kriek

HORAL's Oude Geuze Mega Blend (2021) M
It's no 3f but it's still got an amazing tart sweetness and lemongrass funk. Not so farmy but I'll take it. 3.6. oh and the cork blew off like nothing I've seen in 2500 check ins. Dented the ceiling and poured foam .

Light in flavour not so much in carbonation. Have to hunt for the rhubarb
