(4.3/4.35) lots of maple, toffee, espresso, bourbon & chocolate in this one with a touch of warming booze in the finish. Nice integration of flavors. Very smooth and easy drinking. Could be a less sweet with deeper intense flavors & a bit more thickness

Barrel Aged Good Morning, Vietnam (2021)

Chocolate, licorice, fruity coffee taste and sweetness along with some spice and distinct rye. Slight touch of warming booze in very finish that lingers (a good thing). Thick but not overly so and quite refreshing. A bit on the sweet side overall

Stedsegrøn / Evergreen

Lemon, floral, melon and light peach, moderate bitterness with a dry finish. A bit thin but not to the extent I would expect for the low abv (almost nailed that). Refreshing thirst quencher, albeit a bit boring. Rating according to low abv beer (3.5%).

Nemlig Smag Økologisk Classic

(2.7) Light barn, some smoke and ‘sugary’ and malty sweetness on the nose. Mild caramel, sweetness, crackers, bread and light lemon. Light bitterness. A new take on a ‘classic’. I like the OG better. Not worth the price tag (35dkk/5+ usd)

Have Space Suit - Will Travel

(4.3) forgot to take notes as I was preoccupied, but enjoyed it throughout. It wasn’t overly sweet as the style can be, just a good mix of the sweet, hoppy and piney and resinous. Solid idea with a west coast TIPA

Nemlig Smag Hazy India Pale Ale

Flavour profile is good with lemon, melon, light spice and grapefruit - there just isn’t enough of it. Along with a quite watery texture, you can tell this has been made to keep cost down - something that is not true of Gamma’s own beers. Mild bitterness

Somma

Very pronounced lychee w. notes of lemon, papaya and grapefruit. Moderate bitterness that lingers along with a light pellety vibe. Rich flavour profile and mildly to moderate refreshing. Not a thirst-quencher per se but an ok mix of taste & drinkability

Coffiend Sour

Like the idea of a coffee sour to bring out all the fruity notes along with that roasted coffee expression. It doesn’t work that well though. Coffee bitterness, acidic, fruitiness I can’t quite place and some citrus. Light harshness in the finish

All Day IPA

Revisiting a classic. Old school vibes w. malt-centric profile supported by pine, orange & grapefruit. Full-bodied and full deep taste profile that is beyond its abv. It is a no-fuzz beer that is great for the pub/beach, but falls a bit short as a sipper

Drink'in The Snow

Sweet light/grainy malts and sweet fruits along with a solid body for a non/low abv beer (0.3). Good taste profile and depth for the style. Overall it is too sweet an expression for my preference to really shine

Apricurrant

Mostly getting dark berries, moderate acidity, some light sweetness. Not really getting any salinity. Fruity thirst-quencher. Fine but quite boring and feels more liked a sour than a gose

Kosmsich Grün

Citrus, pine, herbal and quite a lot of sweetness. Mild bitterness. Crushable texture but not overly interesting. Could do with more depth and less sweetness

Hydroglyph

Pineapple, passion fruit, mild malt, lemon and pine. Finish is sweet and moderately grapefruit bitterness

Double Dippy Doo

Great revisit, can’t believe I haven’t had this since October 2020 (probably didn’t check it in, regardless - too good to let that long pass again). Same taste notes as last time.

K:rlek Vår/Sommar (2021)

(3.4) Pine, floral, light and soft lemon, light grass. Moderate bitterness and some lingering sweetness. Texture is light even for a pale ale. Good thirst-quencher for a summer day, but not one for sipping

Phase Curve

Lemon and a fruity sweetness (mostly apricot) along with a vegetal oniony vibe. Mild to light moderate bitterness. Texture is quite full for a session although it becomes more watery towards the end of the can/glass

Plural Pathways

(3.7) Quite green and dank. Grapefruit, pine, papaya and spice. Moderate to high grapefruity bitterness along with hop bite with both lingering forever after the sip (look at the colour). Too harsh and dominant hop bite for my liking , but otherwise solid

Ponder On

(3.9) Orange, lemon, mango, peach, pineapple, berries and some light green and vegetal notes. Moderate and pronounced bitterness and light sweetness. The sweetness mixes nicely with the fruitiness in this one. Refreshing with a nice punch to it.

Lyssa

(3.7) Strawberry, mango, melon, orange and lemon with significant sweetness and moderate bitterness. Refreshing and will just get better as the weather warms. It carries that distinct D&B sweetness that makes the beers enjoyable, but steals the attention

No Gods, No Masters

Papaya, lemon, pine, passion fruit. Moderate bitterness. Significant sweetness. Pleasant easy drinking, too sweet profile to excel. Not green by any measure this time around

Pyramidst

(4.3) Lemon, pine, grapefruit, some light spice and some spruce. Great and pleasant extra/strong pronounced bitterness

Like A Ghost

Easy drinking thirst-quencher - flavor wise it is a bit lackluster and not really intense. Too sweet and quite artificial taste profile. Pineapple, sweet orange, peach and passion fruit. Mild bitterness. Texture is a bit light for the abv/style. Too easy

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa (2021)

(3.8) Roasted malt, espresso, chocolate, strong cinnamon. Light sweetness. Rich and thick.

(3.6) Pine, lemon, sweet tangerine and herbal. Finish has moderate bitterness mixed with a quite sweet impression and a slight harshness. Full texture

Non-Planar

Lemon, grass, grapefruit with a herbal touch. Moderate grapefruity bitterness. Refreshing enough

Hop Sweat Pt 2

Lemon, sweet orange, grapefruit, passion fruit and moderate pine. Refreshing but thin and watery texture and flavor-wise, which it shouldn’t be for this style and abv, which drags an otherwise good taste profile down quite a lot

Steeped: Biome

(3.7) Melon, papaya, lemon, sweetness and some spice. Somewhat artificial and candy-esque feel to it, which is nice enough in this taste combination, but also can be a bit too much over time, subtracting a bit from the experience. Moderately full texture

Up For Air

Considering the 3% abv, this is quite impressive in terms of richness of flavors and texture profile. Refreshing and quite bright flavors. Orange, peach, pine and mild mango. Mild to light moderate bitterness. Rated as table beer

Flex Extremity

(3.85) Similar taste experience as last time (more or less), but maybe a tad bit harsher in the finish and aftertaste than I remember it

Near Distant Future

(4.4) Rich decadent chocolate, toffee and some light perfumy vanilla. Decadent and sweet, but not overly sweet, just intense richness. Mild warming booze in the finish. Dense but not too thick. Really well-crafted and quite interesting but not overly so.

Aquaticus

(4.1) quite floral, pineapple, passionfruit, blood orange along with some melon and pine. Quite complex taste expression. Finish is moderately bitter with a grapefruity bitterness mixed with some residual sweetness. Slight harshness to it. Full texture

Stolen Red Berries

Downgrading a bit from a prior taster. Quite watery feeling. Dominant raspberry, lighter cherries and light acidity. Refreshing thirst-quencher. Could be much richer in texture and fruit saturation to really shine with more pronounced fruits and tartness

Barrel Aged King Ink

(4.4) licorice, sweet bourbon, dark and sweeter chocolate, some dark fruits. Greasy and rich oily texture. Finish has light booze that feels more rounded than the non-BA version. Feels more creamy too. Nice carbonation too

King Ink

(4.1) Dark chocolate, strong licorice and roasted malt followed by some sweetness and a bit of lingering booze in the finish. Full-bodied and somewhat thick with almost oily texture but lacking creamy or fluffy feel.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2019)

(4.35) Roasted coffee, tobacco, maple, chocolate and wood finishing in a mixture of sweetness, dried dark fruits and light booze. Thick-ish, yet refreshing. Good balance of flavours, the booze and tobacco dominates a bit too much to really excel for me

Whirl Champions

Feels like a west coast IPA leading slightly towards no coast. Piney, grassy, lemon, pithy orange and some underlying dankness and a subdued light berry. High lingering grapefruity bitterness and sticky mouth coating. Texture is thicker than a west coast.

Batch #100

(3.9) Black cherries, raisins, red wine vibes, caramel, roasted malt and light smoke. Finish has some sweetness, light alcohol and black cherries. It has some red ale vibes. Rich texture. Interesting beer style. Fun to try an old style! Not rated to style

Chiral

(3.7)Melon, lime, pine and a general floral vibe. Moderate to high-ish perceived bitterness, likely on account of low residual sweetness (given low-ish ibu). No idea why this is listed as hazy. No coast leading towards west coast in my opinion. Refreshing

Velvet Rush (2021)

(3.8) Heavy burnt toasted coffee & malt (tobacco vibe). Beneath is soft chocolate & a nuttiness with an even lighter underlying fruitiness. Chocolate is more pronounced in the finish w. some booze, a light bitterness & lingering toasted coffee. Old school

Chaaarge Nitro Dry Stout

(3.6) A thinner Guinness clone with roasted coffee, sweetness and some maltiness. Served cold (as it should be), it is a real thirst-quencher. Decent clone, although doesn’t quite manage the Guinness fullness in spite of almost similar abv. 0.5

Rosé de Gambrinus (2018)

Strong tart raspberry, some barn, almonds, quite lively carbonation. Dominant acidity at this stage of its lifecycle but with a great fruitiness to it. Would benefit from a greater balance of the two, no idea when that will be though.

Raw Power

Powerful, sticky, dank. All-in lemon, pine and grapefruit with a gasoline vibe. Could do with some sweetness and/or a fluffy/oaty body to complement the dank and hop saturated expression. Too ‘gasoliny’/hop oily for my preference, but otherwise good

Økuller

Raisins, prunes and general dried fruits, smooth booze, chocolate, sweet and sugary fruity. Great barrel integration. Drinks smooth, does not hide the abv but shows it in a pleasant and integrated way

Santa’s Secret: Mochaccino Messiah Double Shot

(4.1) Coffee, fruity, sweetness, cinnamon. Light bitterness followed by lingering cinnamon, some fruitiness and sweetness. Full-bodied and refreshing texture. Better than I remember it and definitely a different take on a brown ale, but I kind of like it.

Beer Geek Porter

Coffee porter indeed. Toasted coffee, malts and some citrus and grapefruity bitterness, lingering coffee and bitterness. A bit of a strange experience. Light to moderate viscosity. Fun combination, but it doesn’t really work that well, sorry

Insane In the Grain (Spelt)

(3.6) Light but rich malt (not deep toasty maltiness) profile with some malty sweetness. Citrus and pine forward with some earthiness. Moderate grapefruity bitterness that lingers

Cold Smoke

Nice to see the Danes do a rauch. It has on point rauch vibes but with a quite light profile. Not a lot of other things really dominating the profile, maybe a light touch of malt and some malty sweetness. Fine but a bit singular expression

First Frontier 2.0

Pronounced Simcoe vibes with piney, earthy and passionfruit and apricot vibes. Complimented by some citrus flavours. Slight grassiness from the freshness. Moderate bitter.What a throwback experience. Enjoyable time machine, but I prefer where we are today

Freak Wave

(3.6) Orange, pineapple, quite sweet profile. Light touch of grass, some malt and malty sweetness along with more citrus and a moderate bitterness with lingering sweetness. Becomes a bit watery over time

Octopils

Bready, roasted malt, citrus, pine and grassy. Light, yet full texture. Mild to slightly moderate bitterness. Refreshing experience

Big Worse

(3.6) bb ‘19 - Clear oxidation w. sherry, no cardboard but a slight staleness to it. Other than that it carries rich dark fruits, candy and toffee sweetness along w. malty caramel vibes. Finish is boozy warmth, fruity & sweet. Weak carbonation. Don’t age

Ampersand: Citra

(3.8) Very LCI - Orange, gooseberry, passionfruit with a more subtle floral note and significant sweetness. Drinks very smooth. Not the best Citra single hop, but fine showing. Imagine this would be really good with a thicker and creamier texture.

Ampersand: Idaho 7

(3.4) Very LCI - Heavy pine, tangerine, citrus, quite grassy, sweetness is less pronounced here. Fine execution, but Idaho-7 does not work that well as a single hop in my opinion

Ampersand: Galaxy

(3.7) Very LCI - Passionfruit, lemony citrus, grass and spicy pepper. Lingering grassiness and pepper. Sweetness shows somewhat here, but is less pronounced.

Ampersand: Strata

(3.8) Very LCI - Mango, passionfruit and dank and cannabis vibes. Also has a herbal and citrusy touch. Here the sweetness and bitterness is nicely balanced (turning sweeter over time)

Ampersand: Mosaic

(3.9) Very LCI - Orange, lemon, mango and blueberry along with an earthiness. The bitterness shows more here without crowding out the sweetness in the finish. Overall a good mix of the fruity and bitter. Best one in the bunch

Ampersand: Nelson

(3.9) Very LCI - Lychee and gooseberries with a peppery note. Towards the end some grape skin vibes also appear. Moderate to light bitterness.

Versus: Hew

(3.6) Rich peach, melon, sweet orange, some herbal notes and a touch of pepper. Moderate bitterness. Texture has some creaminess. Quite a lot of yeast particles, unfortunately, to be expected as it’s past it’s prime and it didn’t harm the taste.

Versus: Hue

(3.8) This fits the description well, with stone fruity esters of peach and nectarine. Also orange, mango and some melon, along with a herbal and peppery vibe. Moderate bitterness along with significant sweetness that lingers

Sleepy Nomad

Coffiend Brown

Excessively sweet for my taste. Coffee showed giving it some fruity and bitter notes, but the beer felt on the thin side. Very drinkable, but not the richest or most complex of brown ale experiences

Chaos Equilibrium

Booze, oak, vanilla, roasted malt, some dark chocolate and coffee along with a touch of sweetness for balance. The vanilla and sweetness lingers pleasantly. Thick body. Enjoyable even with a oversaturated palate.

Backwoods Bastard 2021

Bourbon, significant smoke, chocolate, oak. The smoke and booze is a bit too dominant for my preference, but not a bad beer by any measure

La Ferme

Nice tart profile though I wouldn’t be able to place it as plums if I didn’t know it upfront. Not the most complex of beers, but does what it should

No Gods, No Masters

Very green with strong papaya, citrus and notes of pine

Delphic Fog

(3.9) Papaya, melon, lychee and lemon with a touch of green. Moderate to slightly high bitterness. Finish is papaya and lemon. Texture is full and refreshing

Flex Extremity

(3.9) Lime, peach and sweet melon along with a really nice touch of strawberry towards the end just before the finish. Bitter sweetness mixed with residual sweetness and pine. Lingering strawberry and peach. Quite high carbonation.

Gammel Flamme

West coast for sure. Piney, citrus (especially lemon and lime) and some earthy vibes. High-ish bitterness. Slightly harsh but still quite subdued finish (probably on account of some residual sweetness) with lingering pine and citrus

The Gate

Pineapple, peach and lemon - exactly as they describe it. Touch of grass and pine and a moderate bitterness with pronounced sweetness. Rich and refreshing texture

Last Stretch

Dominating herbal/cannabis, pineapple sweetness, melon, bitter passionfruit along with some citrus (lemon and lime primarily) and a perfumy vibe. Quite refreshing with full texture, but the herbaceous nature of it creates a quite harsh lingering finish

Handheld

No doubt that this is low abv. Very high prickly carbonation and a quite thin mouthfeel and taste profile. However, with that said, it is a thirst-quencher as I am sure was the intention. Citrus, herbal and pine with a subdued but lingering bitterness

Mammamamma Double Blueberry Pastry Sour

Good initial fruity and refreshing blueberry profile, but with a quite harsh boozy finish (likely the ‘doubling’ brings this out’. Quite a pleasant beer, but not the most interesting and a pity with the harsh finish. Glad I tried it

Dangerously Close To Stupid

Intense pine, floral and tangy. Also has clear notes of citrus although they come second to the pine along with a boozy touch. High on bitterness. I remembered this as quite good, but it doesn’t live up to expectations, I’m afraid. On a bad day it is a 3

Fanø Stormflod

Shared. Roasted malt and chocolate. Definitely on the thin side (but expected for the abv). For the abv it manages to be quite pleasant and flavorful with just a bit of depth. A more approachable stout for many

The Penta Milkshake IPA

LCI - overly sweet and thick - hard to taste other much else. I should have expected it from the name. Shared 4 ways and still didn’t really want to finish it. Sometimes more of a good thing is not better. Glad to see To Øl continue to experiment though

Praxis

(3.7) Strong lemon and lime, significant papaya and herbaceous notes. Lots of sweetness mixed with the bitterness in the finish, but not in a cloying way. The herbs and papaya stands more out as it warms, which subtracts a bit. Solid thirst quencher

Stereo Mono HBC472

Coconut, regular and candy-like peach, apricot and general tropical vibes along with a touch of spice towards the end. What a fun hop. Moderate slowly fading bitterness and a rich mouthfeel with below average carbonation. Well-crafted single hop IPA

Metamorph

Lemon, unripe mango and gooseberries with a rich and denser finish than expected given its a pale ale. Refreshing enough and fine craftsmanship, but a bit too hop saturated/heavy for my preference in this style

Triple Trippy Too

(3.8) mango, apricot, guava, bread, grapefruit, lime, touch of earthy vibes, pronounced sweetness. Finish has apricot and lime with a moderate bitterness and lingering sweetness, that grabs the attention but doesn’t completely dominate the experience.

(3.7) Nose of orange, lime and pineapple and a bit of flowers Taste profile is citrus forward with lime and orange in particular along with some pineapple, guava and papaya. The finish is sweet orange, papaya and a bit of pine with a moderate bitterness

Burst

Decent enough everyday beer, but slightly harsh and somewhat thin. Quite singular, IPAs can be so much more, even at 5.5%. Probably good for first time IPA drinkers as it doesn’t overwhelm

Winter Hexagon

(4.3) peach, pineapple and orange. This is followed by candied berries, more sweetness and a touch of booze. These notes linger into the finish along with a mild to moderate bitterness, delivered in good harmony with just a touch too much sweetness

Winter Triangle

candy-like berries and nectarine together with some resin and sweet grapefruit notes. The finish and aftertaste is really interesting with a unique added note (mix of herbal and sweet) that I can’t place and a moderate bitterness. Well-balanced

The Great Square of Pegasus

(3.6) mango, peach and lime with pronounced earthy and piney resin and booze in the back. The resin along with that earthy vibe really dominates here. Finish is creamy mango, pine and booze. Texture is quite thick and saturating but still quite refreshing

orange, tangerine, peach and some sweetness. The finish is a quite mild bitterness, some peach and a sweet note. More or less consistent with the nose

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2016) 11.9%

(4.2) simple yet elegant. The bourbon barrel appears clear and strong together with significant dark chocolate and roasted espresso coffee along with slight syrup and vanilla sweetness.

Kriek 100% Lambic Bio

(4.1) taste follows the nose, with sour cherries upfront with layers of apple and that classic lambic funk in the back. The finish is dry and leaves behind a mix of the cherries with subtle funk and yeasty notes. Good balance

Throne Room

Solid execution, showcasing Nelson Unfortunately, Nelson doesn’t really shine as a single hop in my opinion, but definitely one of the better showings

Don't Bring Me Down

(3.9) grape, gooseberry and soft melon, but also lime and some grassy notes along with something tropical, that is new to me and I can’t quite place. It finishes in a moderate bitterness dominated by the grape and gooseberry. refreshing, clean and rich

Hop Opera

Aroma holds pine, peach, mango and lime Full-bodied with a quite creamy texture, a bit on the heavy side but still refreshing Taste has lime, peach, grapefruit, mango and pine. The finish is quite bitter with lingering pine, lime and some sweetness

Vapeur

(3.9) aroma carries tangerine, orange, pine and a bit of malty sweetness with a hint of booze Taste is tangerine, orange, lime, peach. Finish is a mix of bitter and sweet notes with orange and tangerine. This is delivered in a juicy and full-bodied beer

Great Gig In The Sky

(4.1) mango, orange and peach but also carries melon and grassy notes. The peach along with some orange stays supported by a moderate bitterness, that is initially somewhat harsh but mellows out quite quickly as it settles. It also sweetens with every sip

Astral Sabbatical

(4.3) delicious pineapple with almost candy sweetness. Creamy orange, berries and sweet grapefruit and some pine. mild, but slightly harsh, bitterness. Juicy, creamy and refreshing. It does lose some brightness towards the end but I am also a slow drinker

Metamorfose

(4.1) Full and creamy texture. The taste carries loads of flavours, I pick up peach, pine, vinous grape, berries and grapefruit. The finish is piney, peach and grapefruit with a pronounced lingering bitterness and a subtle sweetness

Symptomagic

Funky bubblegum flavor to it initially (in a good way). Mellows out and becomes less pronounced (but still present) with classic citrus, and pine taking over, although some tangerine also shows. A bit sad it didn’t last as it was a different taste
