Funky with tasting notes of white wine, wood, vinegar and peach. Solid fruity notes with a musty, earthy funk. Extremely balanced stuff.

This one's quite a bit younger than legendary VAT 108 and it kinda shows. Missing that funkiness of the really great Geuzes. Less farmy, mostly green apple and wood.

After having tried many (more) expensive Kriek beers, this still remains my favourite one. 2018 was a great vintage year, unfortunately being replaced by vintage 2019 now.

Very elegant and smooth, deliciously tart and refreshing. Already showing some of the funkiness that high end Geuze beers have after 5 years in the bottle and always readily available for almost no money here in Belgium. We're spoiled. Terribly spoiled.

Bottled on February 19th 2021, unfortunately there's already some minor sediment in my can. Freshness is everything! Hoppy and tropical, creamy mouthfeel, white wine influence also there in the long finish. Cheers to a great weekend, everyone! ๐๐บ๐

Dry & Bitter often reaches the same height as Cloudwater does. When their cans are ultra fresh, this is beer heaven. Their DIPA's are as good as those by Cloudwater and that's not a light thing to say. Awesome stuff again. Three marvellous beers tonight!

Panther Cub (2021) Van Puyvelde
Maple syrup and quite a lot of vanilla but also enough coffee beans and roastness for me. Lovers of roasty Stouts might find this too sweet. Not me! Very fresh and very good! 9,2% ABV, are you kidding me? Very easy drinking Porter. Does not disappoint!

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2019) Van Puyvelde
Finished my lion puzzle today after 4 days so I'm celebrating it with one of my favourite Stouts. My bottle is not very fresh anymore this time, resulting in some depth of flavours. Eagerly awaiting the new batch of CBS.

The 2019 harvest batch is now hitting the shelves, slowly replacing the excellent 2018 batch. This one is younger so a little bit sharper around the edges. Stock up on the 2018 batch as long as they are available is my advice. Still my favourite Kriek.

Is this beer geek going to be impressed by this expensive barrel-aged Impy Oatmeal Stout? First taste reminds me of the amazing Nielsbohrium I had last year. Very creamy and silky, medium bitter, toasted malt, caramel, chocolate & cocoa. Coffee bitters.

Interstratal Abyss Van Puyvelde
Juicy basket of fruits with passion fruit, peach and pineapple. Body is missing a little bit of punch for me. Finish is slightly grassy with some hoppy bitters. It's good but taste wise a little bit too thin. I'm already spoiled when it comes to D&B cans!

After my first disappointing Garage Beer can, here's my first disappointing Dry & Bitter can. Is the Beer Apocalypse a-coming? This beer got me bored after just two sips. Fresh can but rather unsatisfying. Sweet malty, hoppy bitters, not very complex.

Traverse the Polyverse Van Puyvelde
Nicely hazy and ultimately fresh can again. This is tropical fruity but not as sweet as most other DDH DIPA's, the bitter(sweet) lime is clearly there all the way along to the finish. This excellent DIPA deserves a 4+ average rating if you'd ask me.

Here comes another round of ultra fresh Dry & Bitter cans! My favourite beer store Gedeelde Vreugde always manages to get their new cans super fresh. This one is insanely smooth and juicy, mainly on tropical fruits. Mango juice on steroids. Great stuff.

A very easy drinking and somewhat sweeter old Geuze. Refreshing, crispy, sweet fruit notes, spicy ginger, very lemony and a lot of oak. Very complex and satisfying. A real treat. Barrel 86, definitely one to remember!

With this barrel 108bis being so good, I wonder how incredible pricewinning barrel 108 must have been... This is one hell of a Geuze, perfect balance. As good as a 3Fonteinen Geuze from a very good year. I'm a big fan of this stuff!

Excellent Geuze!! In my humble opinion their Geuze is much better than their Kriek. This Geuze can compete with the other premium Geuze beers from 3Fonteinen, Oud Beersel and Tilquin. Perfect appetizer before having lamb chops for dinner later on!

It's decent but I prefer the Kriek Mariage Parfait over this one and the latter is less than half of the price. This one is too crisp for me, also a little bit too much carbonation. Too fizzy. Maybe I'll change my mind in the future but for now it stands.

Haven't had a Stout beer in weeks so I'd better pick a good one. Tonight's movie is a re-watch of "Ghost World", one of the first big roles for Scarlett Johansson. One of her next movies was the amazing "Lost in Translation", one of my personal favourites
