Chocolate Cherry KBS Hebel

Was excited to try this one. It pours a deep dark brown color with aromas of chocolate and barrel notes. The mouthfeel is medium with your classic KBS flavors. Chocolate notes up front with some oak and barrel notes and a slight tartness on the backend.

Sweet Repute Hebel

First time ever trying this one. It pours a dark tan color with aromas of caramel and sweet notes. The mouthfeel is on the light end of medium with flavors of caramel malt notes up front with some wheat notes throughout. As it warms, the maple comes in.

French Toast Bastard (Barrel Aged Series 2022) Hebel

So glad that these are back. Pours a dark brown color with aromas of maple french toast. The mouthfeel is medium with great flavors of maple, cinnamon, and vanilla throughout with a touch of bourbon on the backend. Taste just like maple french toast!

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2022) Hebel

So glad these are back! Pours a deep dark brown color with aromas of coffee and fudge. The mouthfeel is medium with flavors of strong coffee up front, with Mackinaw fudge notes through the middle and end. Not as much fudge as before and light bourbon.

Barrel Aged High Ball Drifter Hebel

Snagged this one today and it did not disappoint. Pours a dark caramel brown color with aromas of bourbon and orange peel. The mouthfeel is medium with great flavors of bourbon barrel up front, followed by a touch of cherry, then orange on the backend.

Belgian Twist Hebel

Pours a medium/light yellow color with aromas of wheat and sweetness. The mouthfeel is on the light, crisp side with flavors of Belgian spiced notes and some subtle sweetness from the blue agave.

Peachy Trouble Hebel

Pours a medium/dark orange, yellow color with aromas of peach and hop notes. The mouthfeel is medium and crisp with flavors of sweet peach up front, followed by some hop bitterness on the backend.

KBS Hazelnut Hebel

Been anxiously awaiting this one. Pours a deep dark brown color with aromas of hazelnut and bourbon. The mouthfeel is medium with flavors of hazelnut up front, followed by the typical KBS flavors underneath. Hazelnut started to die out as it warmed.

Frangelic KBS Hebel

Super happy that I got to try this one. Pours a deep dark brown with aromas of chocolate and hazelnut. The mouthfeel is medium with strong flavors of coffee, chocolate and hazelnut, with a hint of bourbon barrel on the backend. Very tasty!

Barrel-Aged Nemesis Hebel

Another one I’m happy I got to try. Pours a dark caramel brown color with aromas of malts and bitterness. The mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium with flavors of a hint of malty sweetness, a touch of barrel, and some bitterness on the backend.

Blushing Claus Hebel

Lucky enough to try this one. Pours a really nice ruby red color with aromas of barrel and tart fruit. The mouthfeel is a light medium with flavors of tart raspberry and cranberry along with oaky tequila barrel notes on the backend. Worth the try!

Frootwood 2022 Hebel

First time ever trying a fresh one and it didn’t disappoint. Pours a light red/pink color with a subtle fruity/sweet aroma. The mouthfeel is light and crisp with a nice cherry flavor up front and a touch of sweet maple on the backend. Bourbon is hidden.

Utopias Barrel - Aged World Wide Stout (2021) Hebel

Very lucky to be able to get my hands on one of these. Pours brown in color with strong aromas of bourbon. The mouthfeel is on the thinner side with complex flavors of bourbon notes, some sweetness, and some smooth vanilla, chocolate, and roastiness.

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa Hebel

Pours a black in color with aromas of cinnamon and bourbon. The mouthfeel is a solid medium with flavors coming through of strong cinnamon, some bourbon, and some chocolate notes on the backend. Overall, not too bad.

Velvet Rush Hebel

Finally got my hands on a four pack. Pours a darkish brown with aromas of coffee and bourbon. The mouthfeel is is on the thinner side with a strong coffee flavor up front and bourbon on the backend. Not tons of flavor and lacking on chocolate and vanilla.

Bottle Shop Series Highball Drifter Hebel

Happy to try this one out. Pours a caramel brown color with aromas of citrus and sweetness. The mouthfeel is on the thinner end with flavors of caramel notes, vanilla sweetness, and some orange citrus. Overall, not too bad. Nice change up.

All Day Vacay Hebel

Not half bad. Pours a light, crisp yellow color with aromas of tropical notes and wheat. The mouthfeel is thinner with nice flavors of crisp, tropical notes, along with a nice wheat finish.

Panther Cub Hebel

This one was interesting. Wasn’t bad, but wasn’t great. Pours a black color with some aromas of maple. The mouthfeel is medium with interesting flavors of some subtle maple and a little bitterness. Not really getting the vanilla or bourbon.

Underground Mountain Brown (2020) Hebel

I have to say, the 2020 version was better than the 2019 to me. Pours a dark brown with aromas of coffee. The mouthfeel is thinner with flavors of stronger coffee with some bourbon on the backend, but not overpowering bourbon.

Frootwood (2020) Hebel

First timer for this one. Wasn’t sure what to expect, but I definitely enjoyed this one. Pours a light caramel brown color with aromas of fruity notes. The taste is cherry up front with the maple sweetness on the backend. Not much barrel, but very good.

B.A. Vanilla Cherry Ale Hebel

Was lucky enough to try this one! Pours a dark caramel brown with a red tinge, with aromas of cherry vanilla. The mouthfeel is thinner but has very nice and smooth flavors of a cherry vanilla mix and the caramel notes from the scotch. Not much barrel.

Maple Barrel Aged Frangelic Mountain Brown Hebel

So glad I was lucky enough to try this. Pours a dark brown in color with aromas of maple and hazelnut. The mouthfeel is smooth and a step above medium with great flavors of maple sweetness and hazelnut coffee. Don’t get much bourbon, but very very tasty.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2020) Hebel

Better than last years version in my opinion. Biggest difference is in the mouthfeel and taste for me. Mouthfeel was a little thicker and the bourbon didn’t overpower the chocolate and coffee for me. The oak barrels are definitely present though.

Blushing Monk (2020) Hebel

Last one I had was the 2018 and this years doesn’t disappoint. Great raspberry aromas with a ruby red color. The taste is a fresh, strong raspberry through and through. It is on the sweeter side, but these are absolutely worth the pickup.

KBS Espresso (2020) Hebel

Thought this was still pretty good. Lower side of medium for mouthfeel, coming through with tastes of chocolate and coffee up front and throughout the middle, with bourbon coming through on the backend. If you enjoy coffee, you should enjoy this one.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Hebel

Pours a dark chocolate brown with aromas of coffee and fudge. The taste is just that with a touch of maple sweetness throughout. Really thought the flavor balance was great, however, just wish it was thicker. Still on the thin side.

Big Lushious Hebel

This was better than I expected. Literally tastes like you’re eating a chocolate covered raspberry. The tart raspberry flavor is strong and shines through, along with the chocolate taste throughout. The mouthfeel is medium, but it is on the sweeter side.

Punkin Ale Hebel

One of the better Octoberfest/Pumpkin beers I’ve had this year so far. Light mouthfeel with an orange tint color pour. The taste was a touch of pumpkin, along with spicy notes on the backend from the nutmeg.

All Day IPA Hebel

Was okay to me. On the lighter side, drinks pretty easy. Has a decent amount of bitterness to it.
