Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2018) D.

Is it Friday yet? Aged five years, I am stunned at how well the coffee notes have held up. Hardly any barrel flavor. Sweet maple has dwindled some but not a lot. Still a stunner!

Fruit-Full Fort (2018) D.

Aged this one for 4 years. Still fruit forward with the flavor. Strong presence of barrel aged sugar. I’m going to sit on the other two for longer. This has potential to be awesome in the years to come.

Palo Santo Marron (2019) D.

Been cellaring this since Oct. of 2019. It was so worth it! The wood notes are shining through. Awesome character with hints of a nutty sweetness (if that’s a thing). Love this aged.

Curmudgeon’s Better Half (2018) D.

Ouch. This did not age well at all. Sour sugar.

KBS Espresso (2020) D.

Aged nicely but no difference between fresh or aged yet.

Ultimate Oktoberfest D.

Genius to barrel age a Marzen! Very well done. Sweet caramel with a sharp bourbon presence. Really like this.

120 Minute IPA (2019) D.

Wow did this sweeten up over time. I’m getting a sweet malty flavor like brown sugar. Hop flavor has really dissipated. Honey note is still there. I think I like it better aged than fresh. 4.15 on this one.

KBS Hazelnut D.

Oh am I digging this. I wasn’t sure about the hazelnut at first but man was that a good idea! It’s got the KBS profile that I like with the hazelnut flavor. Very well done.

Headed to the cellar. The 2019 CBS still holds a coffee flavor. The maple sweetness has held up nicely too. Chocolate note comes on slowly as it warms. Hardly any barrel flavor. Still an awesome beer!
