Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2018) Laidlaw
Something maybe slightly off with this bottle has a dampness to the taste. The cork I think was a little faulty. Flavours were generally there. I won't rate this as I think it's not the full expression of what it can be.

A heavy, hoppy, juice boy. It's a little sweet at times for me, but undoubtedly pretty quality stuff. Hazy, chunky and rich. It's not for the faint of heart.

More yuzu and citrus forward than the promised Alphonso Mangos. Don't tempt me with Alphonso if you can't deliver that. Still refreshing on a summer afternoon.

Very strong nose, slightly sweet ripened apricots. Very generous, smooth mouthfeel, with a great length. This is a marvellous, memorable lambic. Lively and spiceous in the tongue. Really full on and funky finish. It's pretty spectacular.

Some real deal musty Cantillon. Lots of grape must, pinot noir dryness. Light cherry and funk. Really classy lambic, and very much in my style. Smells oaky and complex.

That elderflower hits you on the nose abruptly. It's intense, one minded and long. Honey, lemon and melon. There's sweetness here. I find it a little too full on for Cantillon generally, so not my favourite. Sometimes a pot of gold will have silver.

Camerise Lambic (2020) Laidlaw
Dry, very tart. Draws out the fruits in your mouth and makes one salivate. Grapey, bright and vibrant. Brett comes to the party late. Bloody Brett. Florality is also present. Really good year.

Oude Geuze Goût Américain Laidlaw
Beautiful golden lambic. Has a certain well rounded modesty to it. There's hay and barnyard funk there in small doses. Tart tatin vibes with the apple and almost creamy roundedness. I love boon, and I really like this

A lot more lively than 2018. Lemon, gooseberry, New Zealand grapes. Some oakiness. Very dry finish, really bright and immediate. Quality, but I just prefer the 2018 personally.

Peach, minerality and grape must reign supreme. Incredible generous nose. Length of flavour is massive. This is a serious Cantillon - as if there is ever a joker in the pact anyway. Flavour develops more oak, peach and grape skin with balanced acidity.

Grand Cru Bruocsella Lambic Bio (2018) Laidlaw
It's not top Cantillon, but it is Cantillon nontheless. It's got bitter fruits, lots of funk, more sour than fruit forward. Could be doing with more crisp apple and acetic properties. A little leather and must but this lacks a bit of carbonation and tart.

Delicious and silly. Feel like being a beach baller drinking this stuff. Slightly syrupy, fairly big on the tequila barrel taste. Intense, my own criticism is that the lime feels slightly artificial, like a cordial. This gives me lager shandy vibes.

Frederiksdal Oude Kriek Foeder Finish Laidlaw
MBCC 23 gold bottle addition. Very funny, blueberry and raspberry, light carbonation. Strong Brett. Nutty afters, and a rounded sweetness finished it off. Classy boi, good boi, travels well from Denmark boi.

1000 IBU (Mikkeller Beer Lab) Laidlaw
Massive and memorable but perhaps not very sophisticated. Floral, pine on the nose. Rich long lasting taste. Little ethanol at the end.

Fairly thick mouthfeel. Dark cacao nibs, a little chalky. Good but not great.

Little bit thin and syrupy. Not sure they nailed this one.

Spontandoubleblueberry Laidlaw
Lovely stuff. Really tart, good amount of barrel in this makes it feel vinous and boozy in the mouth. Fruity levels subside to a gentle minerality.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2019) Laidlaw
Licorice and oaky, bourbon barrel nose. Bitter, slight cognac sweetness. Warming and what you'd expect from an aged Founders breakfast stout.
