Wow. caramel, toffee, butterscotch, brown sugar, coconut, nuts, bourbon, toasted oak. Brown bread, raisin, fig, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Lt bitter spicy oak. Insanely smooth. Top tier style. Big barrel presence. Pure maple nose.

Great but feels past prime at this point. 1/22/16. A lot of black molasses and melanoidin character making it a bit more rough and boozy/warming than I remember. Slow sipping with a lot of malt complexity. Will drink the rest from this batch soon.

Fantastic. big on molasses now, getting some cocoa/coffee as well that I don't recall fresh. Light bitterness/spicy alcohol. Mild increasing booze. This might be peaking now. Better than i reviewed in 2014. Very clean sipper. Medium body. Not too sweet

Definitely prefer fresh. 6/29/18. ton of blackberry fruit tang/tannins and light astringency. more melanoidin, jammy character changed to a sharper dry red wine character. Mostly. Warming up nicely. very strong cabernet wine like beer now. Boozy warmth.

Great spiced sour. Lingering bitter/tart drying, minimal astringency. Mild warmth of 6.5% and lingering spice heat after the finish. Refreshing, very unique for a sour. Quite strong on spice, not overwhelming. Plenty of fruit flavor, balanced lacto/malts

BA Backlog. Amazing stuff. red grapefruit, lemon, lime, green apple, agave, honey, bread; and light oak, vanilla, tequila, caramel, and lactic funk. Balanced creamy wheat and lactic sourness. Slightly syrupy. Spot on base style. Not overly sweet.

Frangelic Mountain Brown (2012) M
BA Backlog. Amazing balance of rich malts with the hazelnut coffee; and very smooth to sip on for 9%. Light and soft on bitterness, but not cloying. Minimal warming abv.

BA Backlog. Feels like mostly Centennial, Columbus, Amarillo, Simcoe, and El Dorado. Very vibrant, juicy, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice sized bready Munich malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Classic DIPA.

BA Backlog. Just as impressive as regular KBS, but a but more roasty/charred from the darker coffee roast.

Amazing as usual. More dark fruits and yeast spice after age. Still jammy. A bit of molasses like melanoidin notes too.

Amazing as usual. Super rich dark roasted coffee and nutty biscuit malts. Light molasses, licorice, and dark fruit. Good sized char bitterness. One of the best classic RIS in existence. especially with age. Super silky full body. Drying char roast.
