Grape juice with a lot of oxidative contributions. Thick and smokey body with just about no sugars to limp it along. The body collapses into a pancaked visage of its former self. There's absolutley nothing to note after the first second.

Maybe aged slightly longer than i should have, but smoothed it right out. Deep and malty

Getting thin. Light fizz. Caramel a maple present but was close to being vinegar. If you have this year, pop it!!!!!

I’m a great spot. Not boozy, and not much bitterness. Slight caramel and toffee with some umami flavors. Not dead yet, but don’t know how much more aging would make it better.

Heavily oxidized at this point, a little past it’s prime. Still nice toffee, nougat, caramel, and oak

Christmas Advent Calendar 2022: Sweet. slight smoky and almost a bit tart on the finish. Aged longer than it shouldve.

Great but feels past prime at this point. 1/22/16. A lot of black molasses and melanoidin character making it a bit more rough and boozy/warming than I remember. Slow sipping with a lot of malt complexity. Will drink the rest from this batch soon.

Sweet vanilla blends surprisingly well with the oakey, peat-smoked flavor. This is a beautiful beer reminiscent of a good single malt scotch with a hint of vanilla and caramel to balance it out. It's aged very nicely as well. Cheers! 🍺

This beer sucks when it’s fresh, but is so nice when it’s old.

This aged perfectly. Beautiful color, nose is off the charts, smoke notes blend well with the old ale

I think it's a little past its prime; a bit muddled/flat maybe

Has heavy flavor from the oak barrels, seems to overpower most of the other ingredients

Pretty good,’almost like a Barley. Had with an awesome Punch Cuban.

Great balance of maple, smoke, and rich malts. After 5+ years, not getting any alcohol burn, very smooth, long lingering sweet smoky finish. Wow

Much more chewy boi than the 2013. More of a sipper but more nuanced.

Was told this style had to age. I think 5 years is enough. 😂

Still holding up with great peat and depth. Always warming on a cold night.

Busting out the fancy stuff hubs has. First flavors are smoke and maple. I’ll take it as I love smoky scotch. Definitely boozy but not overpowering.

Smooth, dark with wonderful hint of smoke to the malt.

Still smoky, it’s slightly boozier and sweeter than I remember. Would have been perfect to go with dinner.

A huge peat-y caramel malt that has a touch of vanilla and a burnt toffee finish. Solid and unique brew with a nice body. It’s smoky, but probably as smoky as I would want my beer to be. They nailed the smoky finish
