Blue grape notes with hints of raspberry, blueberry and a certain spiciness. Red wine vibes but with light funk and balanced sourness.

Bottled 25Aug17. Up and downs with Bruocsella's for me, but this is a great one in my eyes (and palate). Lots of peppery oak and musty wet wood funk with a acidic lemony touch. Balanced sourness, and lack of carbonation gives it a smooth mouthfeel.

Almost no pop when opening, which isn't a good thing for me with Iris. Close to flat, bringing forth maltyiness not letting the dry hopping come through properly flavor wise. Sour and bit funky with a bitter finish. Close to a bitter Bruocsella...

Roasty coffee with mellow bourbon notes. Old school balanced as roast feels soft just as bourbon, plus bit thin by today's standard. Vanilla and toasted oak lingers in finish with bourbon booziness as soon as the roast have faded.

A (hidden) gem in the Cantillon catalog. The Hallertau add a fresh citrus and elderflower touch that melds nicely with the sourness, and a light herbal bitterness to the light wooden and funky base. 4.25+

Canned 8Sep23. Juicy with a slight citric touch. Grapefruit, pineapple, passionfruit and orange. Some bitterness in finish.

Great return since the last 50°N I tried was the awful batch #6 2020. Diversity and complexity from the triple barrel assault, where the sweet aspects from especially cognac and marsala emerge. Splendid balance of sour, sweet, funk and barrels.

Every time drinking a new vintage of Foune, hoping it will be a return to the glory days. By far the most sour vintage, not leaving much room for the apricot jamminess. Got a sweaty type of funk going. Fingers crossed for next vintage...

Canned 6Jul22. Would normally not buy a beer this age, but missed out on this one 3-4 times. Who can resist the trip down memory lane, an LP sized CD with sound better than a DVD? What a time to be alive. Wishing the IPA was alive too... Still OK.

Not often rhubarb comes forth, but here it does even if as usual bit laidback. Light funk, light wooden, but yet so good rhubarb notes.

Cork says 2022, bottled 12Jan23 and brewed season 2019-2020. No 2023 on Untappd yet, so this'll do for the moment... Classic flat lambic with grains, funk, cereals, toast, lemon and oaky vanilla and spices. Balanced acidity and sourness

Green coffee notes meets a syrupy base with a light kiss of bourbon. Syrup vs green coffee sort of neutralizes the green pepper notes even if there. Light gluey touch to the sweetness. Hoped for more bourbon barrels and didn't expect the gluey notes...

Sounds and looking good... ... Tastes great. Somewhat boozy but mostly pecans, bourbon, oak, vanilla and did I say alcohol.

Light bourbon nose, smooth mouthfeel even if bit hot. Chocolate, coffee, bourbon, vanilla, cinnamon, licorice and light coconut.

Canned 31Oct22. The curaçao orange adds an odd perfumy touch. Juicy with orange, pineapple, grapefruit and herbal notes. Not loving the curaçao...

Snowflakes are melting yet again. Hazy yellow. Soft, easygoing, apricot, orange and some grass. Good and with a nice takeaway as a bonus.

Malty, bit caramelly, with sweet wort. Slight bitter finish with peach and spices, then some orange, pine and grapefruit. Got that light tart non-alco touch to it, and a somewhat yeasty vibe to it, but still nice for a non-alco...

Flavorful for the abv, probably because of the heavy roast (especially for style) flanked by fruitier notes. Coffee, chocolate, syrup, dried fruits, caramel and dark bread. Finish has a roasty type of bitterness with spices, where the ashy roast lingers.

Been a while now, so about time to revisit this classic. Heavy on the roast with coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, spices and caramel. Barrel notes are toned down with light bourbon notes only, more of vanilla and oak. Warming. Old school BBA impy simply

So, what if adding a vintage Bastard into the equation, would that make a difference? Nope, not here, this bottle is surely off, must be something wrong with it. Got a sour vinegar note to it, killing most of the barrel drenched maltiness. What a shame...

Malty with big bourbon barrel notes, but still not as much as I remember. Memories say it was even more unbalanced before 😆 Toasted oak notes are huge, with vanilla and bourbon. Smooth maltiness with toffee, dried fruits, chocolate and syrup. Warming

Canned 20Jul22. Juicy and soft with notes of orange, passionfruit, grapefruit and pineapple. Slight bitter finish with a hint of chalkiness, would have nice taste back in July or early August...

Canned 10May22. Light citric juicy with notes of pineapple, grapefruit and orange. Nice mouthfeel and flavor intensity for a session IPA, even though it does feel like it's on the lighter side of the spectrum. Slight bitterness in finish with a dank touch

Canned 7Apr22. Citra orange/grapefruit juice meets some Galaxy rubber. Bit of passionfruit and pineapple. Somewhat smooth, but a tad high carbonation and a zesty bitterness gives it a slightly rougher edge.

Not how I remember it from previous batches and bottles... Moldy wet wood, nail polish remover and apple cider vinegar. Some funk and grapefruit beneath that, but not recognizing 50N at all here, bad bottle? Stored cold since buying it...

Canned 8Feb22. Juicy, but with an odd spicy touch. Malty backbone, bit sweet, with slight marmaladey hops. Peach, mango, orange and grapefruit notes, plus that weird spicy note. Almost menthol like in a way...

Canned 15Dec21. Juicy with a marmaladey and bit malt heavy backbone. Peach, herbal notes, pineapple and grapefruit. Finish light spicy and bit piney with some bitterness.

Big rye whisky notes which more or less always work well with impys. However, impy isn't quite up to the match. Like the flavor profile overall that pairs well with the barrel notes, but it feels bit thin and can't quite measure up. Up the base beer abv?

Canned 29Nov21. Juicy with both overripe and citric touches. The heavier overripe notes adds peach and mango, while the more refreshing citric notes add grapefruit and orange. Smooth despite the slightly high carbonation.

Oily, low carbed, sticky smoothness. Sweet vanilla forward, almost vanillin touch to it. Chocolate saucery; nutty and syrupy. Low on bourbon notes unfortunately. Really nice, but sort of like overdoing it, yet still not getting there...

Canned 14Jul21. At first glance, a sour TIPA with Talus doesn't seem like a good idea, and well, it wasn't... Not getting any specific Talus notes, but it's lemony tart with a big, big malty backbone. Low carbonation, near flat. Warming. Not my thing...

Canned 30Aug21. Heavy, sweet and warming. Too heavy in the backend somehow, quite malty. Juicy with peach, honey, ripe mango, honeydew and orange. Definitely needing a refreshing edge in order for it to work for me...

Canned 14Jul21. Sweet, warming, juicy and bit thick. Getting a bit malty, and also some marmaladey notes. Peach, ripe mango, honeydew, orange and grapefruit. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel.

Read recently it's time to pop this one now. Loud pop, but no gusher. High carbonation, funky and very dry. Balanced sour with oak, lemon, green apples and some vanilla. Finish is rather short though, which lets the minerals come through more than needed

The flat lambic, not always my best friend so to speak. This one works pretty well though. Bit acidic with a light vinegary note. Funky with a gunpowdery, close to rubbery, vibe. Some sweetness from a grainy cereal touch, yet lemony sour with barrel notes

Canned 9Jun21. Juicy with citric touches. Passionfruit, orange, grapefruit, mango and lime. Hop bite. Finish is dry with a zesty touch and some bitterness.

Loud pop from the cork and lively carbonation. Funky and musty with a touch of wet wood. Earthy and very dry with fruity touches of green apples, grapefruit and apricot. Balanced sour and acidic. Minerals and bit of warmth in finish.

Light and clean maltiness with bread, grains and crackers. Finish is light bitter with citrus and herbal notes. Bit too light overall, but instead easy and refreshing drinking. Price level in Sweden just above (a quarter, ish) PBR and Bud, not bad...

Cherries with cherry seeds and light marzipan. Fruity sweetness in the background for a cherry juice vibe. Spontan base not as good as the ones from more established breweries, but it does the trick. Feels mellow compared to others in the Spontan series.

Smooth, balanced and fine tuned the typical Founders way, also meaning bit careful and heldback. Surprisingly enough the fudge coffee and maple syrup accentuate the chocolate, making it rich in cocoa notes. Very tasty, with a light candy vibe.
