Nelson Sauvignon / Sauvin Brut

Bière de Champagne / Bière Brut

Nelson Sauvignon is a New Year beer it is fermented with ale yeast, brettanomyces and enzymes. Then it has been aged three months in Austrian white wine casks. Very dry, very vinous and very delicious.

For 10,5% quite light, yet there's an alcoholic hint, nice brett notes, some balsamic vinegar. Good body, long lasting aftertaste.

One of the strangest beers I've ever drunk. Grape is everywhere, - but it's definitely a beer. The beer. Need a second try.

Now this is something else. Basically champagne with malt and hops. Very grapey and spritzy. Highly recommended!

Tart, with some winy/bretty flavours and a bit syrypy aftertaste.

Big and present bevvy! Musty, sherbetty, citrusy and dry on the palate. This would be a great beer to accompany some seafood.

Wild nelson rocks. Melon, white grape and some light funk on a soft tart base. The champagne yeast gives a long dry finish, slightly bitter from the hops

That hits hard and sour, white wine with one of my favorite hops, yeah. Maybe a little overkill.

So unique, very strong flavours in this beer, or wine? Doesn't have the champagne carb, but has big brett notes, apple, tart

Bready, Bretty nose. But actually it's kinda amazing. Red apple skin, funk, wood, wine, vanilla... Quite an experience. Finishes a bit schlocky and woody.

What a thrill to find this gem again. Nelson sauvin hops at their best, most stone fruit laden and vinous. Add pronounced wine barrel notes and a somewhat soapy body reminiscent of a "super saison" and you've got a (this) real hit

Wonderful brew. Very wine like in character but extraordinarily smooth on the palate. Certainly a sipping beer but outstanding.
