Lots of sour and cherry in that Doppelbock! The proper way to drink it (otherwise it’s too damn sweet, unless it’s Schlenkerla).

Sour cherry compote generously drizzled over a slightly burnt chocolate chip cookie nose; taste is cherry compote with over-backed double chocolate chip cookies crumbled in; there’s then some nice cherry skin/stone tannin bitterness & clotted cream fudge.

Chocolate and cherry pulp aroma. Loads of silky syrupy cherry with dry cherry pit tannin, finishing with roasted malt and more caramel malts

Fermented, sweet, huge cherry hit. Dark sour cherries all the way through. Like warm summer, with over ripe but fantastic fruit

It’s funky, it’s deep, rich, tart and it’s stinky! Cherry aplenty. I would love to have this after it’s spent a year in an old red wine cask, but nevertheless it’s still a lovely - full on drink
