A lot of cherries, slightly astringent, not too sour, a bit of oak, quite dry, really nice stuff

Random day off calls for mid-week beer tasting at one of my local favs: Mikkeller. This is the brewery that started my love for BA Wild Ales, and this Spontancherry is awesome- so complex, oakey, bright cherry flavor, and a smooth sweetness at the end.

Delightful sour. Could almost be mistaken for red wine.

Pretty surprising: tastes a bit like a lollipop but not as artificial as other non-belgian krieks. Super concentrated, well carbonated, persistent and a bit vinaceous. Mikkeller is not what it was anymore, but they did not forget how to make good beers.
