French Toast Bastard

Scotch Ale / Wee Heavy

Backwoods Bastard gets the 4-star breakfast treatment. Our bourbon barrel-aged Scotch Ale is introduced to maple syrup, cinnamon, and sweet vanilla for a decadent brunch-inspired sipper. Breakfast for dinner, anyone?

Christmas breakfast dessert beer! Man, she’s sweet! But, oh so tasty. Hints of oak, heavy vanilla, cinnamon, and maple. Great aroma! Merry Christmas!

This is pretty impressive to get this flavor in a beer.

Crowler for share. I like Scotch Ales and I like Maple Syrup. Did I like this? Yup. Sure did. A hint sweet but so very tasty .

I should have read the label more carefully, 11.1! I’ll sip this one slowly.

This bastard is way too sweet for me. A lot of maple and vanilla going on. Boozy but not too strong.

4 oz draft. Aroma is cinnamon and mild maple syrup. Flavor shows a mild bready malt base with soft maple syrup and a blast of cinnamon on the finish. I wanted to hate this sell out brewery but… this is pretty decent. Could drink more then 8 oz. 3.7

First couple of sips, super sweet. But as it builds the sweetness goes away and French toast flavor comes out. Tastes just like a bite of French toast with syrup.

Dark and pretty sweet. A little heavy on the cinnamon but a nice nitecap. Thanks Pat.
