It hits the flavors it’s going for, but doesn’t hold a candle to Backwoods

Quite balanced, enjoyable beer. The maple and cinnamon come through nicely and complement the base wee heavy.

The backwood bastard is one of my favorite beers. How would this fair. Very boozy and a bit of heat (maybe the cinnamon). Lots of maple. Not getting vanilla. This would be a great early drinking beer in the cold. Like a tailgate beer. Does taste like FT.

Good but the cinnamon is a little too overpowering. The aroma is absolutely amazing!

Didn’t know what to expect but it’s a pretty good beer after a bit! I will say it’s a bit strong.

Sweet and rich maple, vanilla, and cinnamon aromas and flavors. The bourbon barrel aged character is very subtle. Definitely a dessert beer.

Smells and tastes exactly as advertised. Syrupy. Maple tones were very strong.

Good flavor, but strong aftertaste, like maybe artificial vanilla?

Pretty sweet. Very good. Most likely prefer the OG Bastard but I'd drink this again. Great pairing with fresh elk meat.

Last nite on the deck. Just like cinnamon French toast. But too sweet for my liking

Its the black one… tasty but not as good as 903 or Lakewood’s French toast brew. Syrupy indeed.

Great aroma. Initial taste is nice but then it is just all cinnamon from there on out. Waaaaay too heavy handed on the cinnamon. Hardly getting any of the barrel character, just a fireball type of burn from the cinnamon.
