One of the best beers I’ve ever had… first had it nearly 3 years ago on tap in Wisconsin, but they finally just bottled and have distro out here… the BBA beer I compare all others too. Roasty but not overbearing, french toast flavor is spot on! Damn!

Not especially sweet, which is surprising considering how much maple syrup is coming through. Tasty. I prefer it over the original.

Tastes like breakfast in college. Maple syrup and and cinnamon complement the vanilla flavor with the warmth of the bourbon, minimal bitter after taste. Strong beer but so flavorful

It's sure tasty but too much cinnamon for me. It leaves a bitter after taste. I love their bastards damnit.

Ridiculous amount of extracts in this beer. It tastes like synthetic French toast. Everything is amped up and punches you in the face (or mouth) in a bad way.

I thought the additions were dang near perfect. Amazing nose. Still a Bastard underneath- nice maple and spice.

The backwood bastard is one of my favorite beers. How would this fair. Very boozy and a bit of heat (maybe the cinnamon). Lots of maple. Not getting vanilla. This would be a great early drinking beer in the cold. Like a tailgate beer. Does taste like FT.

Amazing beer, even better when paired with thick cut maple bacon!

Starts with a solid cinnamon and maple syrup nose with a hint of bourbon barrel aging follows up with notes of vanilla, cinnamon and maple syrup.
