Usually feel like Marzens are hit or miss but considering that I love beer beer Founders puts out I dove into the 15 pack head first and was not disappointed. Only drawback is that it doesn’t come with a coupon for a big soft pretzel!

Crusty bread, floral/ herbal hops, grass, caramel and smoothness from lagering along with crispness from hops. Nicely done. Makes it feel like fall on the first mild STL day in a long time.

Totally failed at making homemade pizza dough, but at least there’s beer. This is a punch of flavor!

Holy smokes! That’s a good Marzen! Hop refreshing punch at the front that lingers for a bit and mellows into a malty sweetness. But not too sweet!

Ok, high rating for being a sold example of a Marzen. Beautiful amber color, malty with caramel notes, clean lager finish. Nice light hop aroma.

Malty sweet, smooth in an almost cream ale way. Definite German hop finish. I'd love to have a big ol' stein of it. But I'm going to see Dwight Yoakam tomorrow, after it's been cancelled and rescheduled twice. I've never seen him, and I'm pretty excited.
