Underground Mountain Brown

Brown Ale - Imperial / Double

Underground Mountain Brown is the harmonious drinking experience only achieved when our imperial brown ale, earthy sumatra coffee and a year aging in caves below Grand Rapids comes together. A team of malts complement the bold sumatra coffee perfectly, while time spent immersed in oak creates layers of depth and complexity. A celebration of the barrel, the bean and everything in between.

The bourbon note is a bit strong to the point of almost overwhelming the rest of the profile. The chocolate and coffee notes don’t stand up well to it, unfortunately.

Liked this more than the latest KBS. Coffee and bourbon. No surprises here, but delicious.

It’s no KBS, but it’s pretty good. Aged for another year in the basement leaving mostly coffee and a hint of bourbon, but not much else really.
