Good flavors but was this year’s vintage a little thin?

The flavors are a bit muddled or maybe subdued. A bit of chocolate in the nose. Coffee and some booze flavors. As it warms the bourbon flavor becomes more pronounced. A little underwhelmed.

So funny that I use to fight and call around to just get a single 12oz bottle of this. Now I’m buying it on clearance and has been sitting on the shelf for 4 years. Game has changed, but this still remains a decent and consistent shelf option 78

2019 bomber (not cellared). Smooth but losing that decadent dark chocolate along with fading coffee and barrel. Nice root beer aromas as it warmed. A BBA I prefer more fresh or within a couple years. Drink now esp if not cellared, ox setting in. Cheers!

Good beer. Definitely coffee forward with chocolate undertones. Thinner than what I’m accustomed to, but good overall flavor.

My 1st check in to 2019??? Delightfully chocolate bourbon nose. Carbo a bit flat. Coffee grounds for sure, bourbon hint on back end. Decent for almost 5 years. Maybe 2 years on KBS is the sweet spot.

5 yr old KBS. I don't think you are supposed to age these, oh well. Definitely tastes better fresh

Bottled 9/23/19 - still has good carbonation. Not as boozy as I would have thought for 11.3%. Maple and vanilla balance out the dark malts.

The 2012 variant was the best I be had so far. This one was a little thin and lacking in the barrel aged booziness I look for.

Rich dark chocolate and red fruits, quite nice coffee, slight influence of barrel, roasty and a bit too boozy, on the verge of being a problem, decent, 3.666

My first time being able to stomach a KBS. Kind of liking it.

Chocolate and maple syrup on the nose maybe some coffee. Thin chocolate body with some barrel.
