Echt top. Lang gelegen en mooi gerijpt, zware tonen van koffie en chocolade met een mooie laag bourbon eroverheen

2018 is almost as deep as my beer collection goes. Smooth, chocolatey, coffee, roasty, bourbon hanging out in there.

Late check-in. Coco seco, cocada de forno, maria maluca, prestígio e etc. Nozes, café, torra, cinzas e um pouco de tabaco. Tá macia, porém menos do q eu esperava. Potência absurda, inclusive com boa percepção de destilado. Evolução notável de ano a ano!

Vertical 2016-2019 from the cellar. Pretty similar. Older two are more woody, less carbonated. Newer two have more chocolate flavor. All are pretty heavy on coffee & bourbon flavor, though it tastes different depending on the wood/chocolate combination.

When I first had this my son was a HS Freshman, today he graduated. My son like this beer aged very well.

Rich profile. Tamed Bourbon, slightly boozy, aged and spiced. Starts roasty, burnt. Choc, vanilla, wood, nuts, licorice. Oakey. Smoked. Medium body. Oily, smooth, thin, viscous. Slightly sweet. Pleasant layers. Warming. Cozy. Still a breakfast benchmark.

That balanced combo of big flavoured chocolate, coffee and bourbon is always so impressive in this beer. Been a while since I've had a KBS, but the quality is still there, especially if it's got 4 years of aging on it. Silky smooth, low ABV burn.

Missed checking this in by the fire last night - but it has aged well. Not as much chocolate anymore - but still very good.
