Usually not a fan of bourbon beers but this was good. Nice balance of espresso (not just coffee but espresso strength) and bourbon barrel.

If one Imperial Stout is good, two must be better (then we gotta go). This one is just as good as the Surly, only coffee is the dominant flavor. Same 12.0% ABV (that’s why I have to go after this one).

Aroma: bourbon, roasty smaak: bourbon!!!! Warm, vooral zachte vloeibare whiskey, lekker! Volle smeuge koffie. Nasmaak is bitter koffie achtig en droog koffie mondgevoel

De epresso was niks voor mij. Alcohol was veels te sterk. Het was wel drinkbaar maar kan het niet op krijgen. Zo zwaar was die

Big bold berry aromas and the middle is soft and creamy espresso. Boozy fringe, light tannins. Coffee cake residuals. A little session stout action to switch up the hitters.

For some reason I'd forgotten to rate it the 1st time. This time against Mackinac & CBS '19. Intense espresso aroma, dark chocolate in the taste after the coffee, bitter, creamy but the body to the thin side. Nice next to CBS 4.15⬆️
