It’s stout season! I’m slowly working through my KBS from 2018-21. Finding that these don’t age super well is a disappointment. IMHO, they need 6-12 months to take the edge off, but then they start to degrade at some point. Looking for the magic window.

Smooooooth end to some fine beerage. Drinking great, espresso and bourbon leading.

Absolutely magnificent. Glad I kept this around. Best dessert I've had all year. Way more chocolate than coffee. Almost too sweet. Not sure I could drink more than one. But then, it's not built for that. Nice, subtle, silky, bourbon afterthought.

Not much coffee left... some chocolate still... plenty of bourbon in the nose. As good as I expected, but not as good as I hoped for.

Some Chocolate flavor but mostly very boozy ending. Never been a big fan of Imperials. This brewed in February 2020.

Odd. The 2020 remains...simply less good and balanced. That statement was true when fresh and still is 3 years later. Wonder if there was a major change.

Coffee is mostly gone, as expected. Still, that unique chalkiness from the blend of barrel, coffee, and roasted malts that's always characterized KBS for me is front and center. Good, though the whole experience is subdued by the age.

First American stout from good 'ol Kentucky. . Bittere sjokla, veel bourbon nog aanwezig na 3 - 4 jaar. Sterke koffiesmaak. It ain't bad, no sir.
