Found 8 bottles in the basement beer vault. Still a great taste, considering this is a 2017 vintage. This beer ages well.

Not sure if the bottle aging had a tangible effect. Definitely wasn't off. Bourbon barrel seemed stronger to me on the nose I guess but that could've just been the batch.

From 2017 so the flavor has probably faded but it is still very good.

These hold up really well. Character keeps evolving as the years go by but still fantastic! Should do a year by year comparison.

Aged beautifully. Oak vanilla dark fruit peat little bourbon.

So, what if adding a vintage Bastard into the equation, would that make a difference? Nope, not here, this bottle is surely off, must be something wrong with it. Got a sour vinegar note to it, killing most of the barrel drenched maltiness. What a shame...

My experiment of aging this for 5 years. Still a fine brew. Perhaps milder intensity, not sure I remember! 😆Maybe less bourbon, more oak. Has some spiciness that stands out. 4.0
