Maple, molasses, cardamom, whiskey and dry oak with other notes of caramel and spice. Great beer for the Thanksgiving feast that is not pictured.

My absolute favorite beer of the bourbon barrel series from Founders. The molasses alone sets it apart. Definitely more boozy than previous years but that’s alright. Thanks as always Andrea D.

I love this thing. I feared it might be harsh, but it’s Carmel/molasses/vanilla sweet with a delicious streak of maple and a little booze. Sad now that I only ordered one 6-pack in the Mug Club sale.

Boozy nose. Rich, caramel malt sweet flavor. Smooth. Vanilla, boozy flavor. Slightly more bourbon, woody notes than normal Better Half. Sweet, vanilla, boozy finish. Great BA old ale

Side by side with ‘18 Better Half. Similar flavor profile but more oak, more barrel, and more maple. Very nice.

Boozy. Definitely has a boozy bite. Smoother towards the end. Some sweetness to this beer also.

Very interesting, more complex than the barleywine, with a strong black licorice note. -

Better Half wowed me the 1st time I had it ~2008. Still tasty. This was the Mug Club beer for 2020.

This is solid. Great molasses and maple. It’s got a lot of caramel and sweet malts. There is a strong barrel presence, and a growing vanilla on the finish. It’s long, dry, and sweet. I’m a big fan of this one. #properglassware
