Tastes delightful, but can you smell pilchards?!?! The smell reminded me of childhood fishing trips. The taste (once I got past bait) is quite pleasant.

Not getting a ton of maple I think it's getting overwhelmed by the barrel.

Curious flavor with this one. The flavor mix almost gives me an anise vibe. Glad to finally try this one.

Aging hasn’t improved it significantly. Vanilla is still strong but with an added bitterness that is reminiscent of straight vanilla extract. Barrel aging is nice.

J’suis un peu malade, peut être pour ça que je comprend pas grand chose à la bière, mais j’ai bien compris que c’est agréable à boire. Une bière noire plutôt gourmande sûrement avec des trucs cools dedans.

Vanilla. Maple. Sweet. Roasty. Malty. Slightly bitter. No barrel flavor at all. The vanilla extract overpowers everything.

Really tannic flavor in there, like black tea. Still really enjoyable behind that

Can't really taste any bourbon. Maple syrup is very strong. CBC is a better maple bourbon stout. CBC's maple flavor isn't weaker, but the boozy bourbon is stronger, so it's better balanced. This is just too sweet. It's like a less thick pastry stout.

No body. No barrel. Muted flavors. Easy drinking but very disappointed overall.
