Barrel Runner

IPA - Imperial / Double

Inspiration for our barrel-aged beers can come from the most unexpected places and our latest release is proof of that. Sweet and hoppy, rich and bright – this rum barrel-aged imperial IPA brewed with Mosaic hops will make you believe you’re in the tropics.

Hadde egt tenkt til å gi denne 4.00 men den dro seg ned til 3,75 på slutten. Blir litt for bitter ettersmak selv om det er en ganske brukbar IPA

Cleaning out the back of the fridge day. After a couple years there, more malt taste but still good.

🇺🇸: Een mooie dipa gerijpt op rumvaten. Heerlijk experimenteren met bier, wat een prachtspul. Hier kan ik best van genieten. 👌🍻🔥

Golden syrup on the nose, hazy and copper in the glass. Syrup mouthfeel, earthy rum tones. Hints of citrus. Not Founders best, but still enjoyable.

Conflicted. I like this because I like rum, but is it beer? More of a beer-rum cocktail I guess.

Bottled 5-29-18. Final bottle from the cellar. Rum, coconut notes and faint citrusy hops in the aroma. Taste has citrusy hops, rum, oak and light coconut notes. Definitely more mellow than I remember. Complex, yet pretty balanced. High 3.75/5

A well rummed and intense, strong BA Imperial IPA, spicy hints from the beginning till the end. A bit too boozy to get excellent points, but really good still.

Initial sweet, almost fruity, gives way to boozy/rum then hop finish. As usual Founders makes a great beer.

Turbid golden/amber beer with a slight off-white head. Medium aroma; taste starts medium/heavy sweet and ends slightly bitter and dry. Wood, rum, fruit, hops and citrus. 7/4/7/4

A bit more age - somehow more boozy - out and out hot; some syrupy sweetness and tropical fruit in back - rum. Not bad but hot….
