Huh, super dark roasted malts, and yet super boozy and nicely hopped. Like a black barleywine... is Cascadian barleywine a genre yet? I approve.

Despite it having a good amount of hops to balance the extra malty flavor, it doesn't really have a balance. It's extra sweet up front, and nom pleasantly bitter on the back end of the palate.

I'm not normally too keen on barleywine, but this is quite nice. Not too much of an edamame aftertaste. Alcoholic burn, but more refined. Complex, yet simple. Kudos!🍻

Little heavy however for a beer at tye end of a long day, yes this will do.

Mahogany hue. Big, boozy and bold. Malty at the start with classic flavors of dried fruit and caramel, bitter piney bite at the finish. On par with the draft version

Definitely more bitter than other barley wines I have had

Interesting barley wine. A little hoppy but not too much

Absolutely delicious. Like drinking liquid caramel malt.

Nice barleywine....reminicint of Backwoods, but different. Very tasty!

A bit too harsh on the back end for some reason. It lacks that malty ease that makes barleywines drinkable.

Solid Barleywine. Founders really stepped it up with this one.

When introduced to me as “Barley Wine” I was expecting sweet and potent, test this was incredibly smooth and somewhat hoppy resembling an IPA. Was enjoyable, but not something I’d actively seek out.
