This is an absolutely punishing assault of Pine and resin bitterness with a good dose of fusel booziness to make it utterly irredeemable. This is some Stone level nonsense.

Sweet like cotton candy with an orange twist. Then the hops kick in with a very dry finish. Interesting beer.

Left. Big and bitter. Heavy pine resin, tar, hints of citrus. Very good.

Oh yesssss. This is what I came for. Big rich toffee sweet and maybe even a little green. Got some bottles and looking to put some age on this. Sond roasted malt notes and maybe even coffee? Maybe some bright hops under there that will fade with age. #BiL

This beer is more of an experience than a drink.

A smooth 11%. Happy Cellar Raid! They’re playing Iron Maiden in the taproom

Cellar Raid 2021. Hoo boy. This is tough. It’s bitter and resin-y throughout. Hints of chocolate and barrel. Strong boozy finish and the pine I just can’t get over. This is not the best of offerings.

Sweet nose. Roasty forward. Crisp, hoppy bite. Earthy, piney hop. Medium body. Strong. Sweet, roasted, slight smoky malt. Piney hop finish. Good barleywine

Not a huge fan. Not really distinctive. Sort of a slightly boozy resiny brown.

Not very versed in barley wine style brews, but wow...this really packs in the flavor. Roasty/ malty front end with a piney hop presence. Drinks like a deep brown ale on steroids.

Not at all what I’ve expected for years. Bitter and roasty. Tastes like a thin (from the abv) cascadian.

Malty rich with lot of flavors nice. I'm finally at the original founders! Good days

Drinkable for the abv, missing some of the toffee/raisin for a great barleywine

Little too bitter for my taste in barleywines.

Was expecting a Bigfoot clone. Nope! Malty, roasty and piney. Can’t wait to see what some age does to these.

Sweet medium roasted maltiness. Boozy warming. Hops come through. Slightly piney. Slightly chocolatey. I haven't had a Founders barleywine since 2012! I'm not usually a big fan of BW's, but this one is pretty dang good.

You will either love or hate this one. Better at room temperature
