Not for those operating heavy machinery. The syrupy barley start with a sweet start and a dark roasted finish are intense. It's like a Prog Rock song; a lot of complicated things going on, but not everyone will appreciate it.

Avnjöt den i förtältet med Viktor. Lite syrlig kanske men fantastisk doft och mycket god.

14.2% kick in the face. The high abv is pretty well hidden behind a great stout. Kicks in on the backend flavor. Dang good

Caramel and grain in the nose. There is also a little barrel too. It’s almost coffee and dark chocolate plus licorice. Also some caramel. A lot of alcohol heat.

Tastes very much like a stout, not a barley wine.

I found common ground with this nemesis after the first few sips

Dark ass barley wine. Equal parts molasses, malt and hops. Delicious even though it was bottled over a year ago. That seems to be the new standard.

Old school, 3 years old (minus 4 days), black Barleywine, aka imperial BIPA…. Yes, it’s still holding up great oddly enough! pick these up if you see em, I will!

The hops mellowed over three years, but still a lot of roasted character from the malt
