A good Strong Ale not a good Barleywine but I will say the minimal hops would be welcome if they did in fact brew something more in line with the style. It's a good beer but I rate how it fits into the style and this misses the mark by a lot.

Mild malty aroma with a bit of smoke and alcohol. Body is heavy and leaves a lot of residue going down. This has big characteristics. Extremely hop forward, nutty, and boozy. Exist in tandem, not blended. Aggressive aftertaste. Pair with smoked sausages

A odd combo of barley wine and porter, a little too bitter not enough caramel malts/ maltiness

Raisins and caramel sweetness on the finish. Lacking complexity that I prefer in the BA version of these beers.

At 75IBUs it’s a hop bomb. This needs a year or 2 in the bunker to temper. Nice color but can hardly taste the barley wine. Warming it mellows a bit. Kind of fun but off balanced. 🍻👈🏼😜👊🏾

Thank you Dave L. It's a rough beer to rate. I can see a range for people who like this style from 2.5 to 4.

Not really the right beer for 80. Wow was stuck in the office all F-ing day. Ipa for dinner after this big bastard. It’s big and very filling, boozy as hell too

Would rate higher if in a different category. Really wanted a barley wine.

Solid. Strong barley wine with a lot of roasted malt. More hoppy than a typical barley. Bottles up!! #17, round 9. Betch.

Taste more like a stout not a barley wine. I taste a lot of coffee

At room temperature, the head taste like marshmallow, actually has a hoppy aroma, and flavor. Sweet finish, overall very good, but not "barleywine" flavor profile.

Pours a dark brown with a small light brown head. Malty aroma. Medium body with some oily lacing. Dark and malty with a dry bitterness. Not as dank or boozy as I expected. Long lingering hoppy bitter aftertaste. More like a black IPA than a barleywine. Ok

New series from these guys. Roasty flavors with a surprising level of bitterness for this style. And in case you’re wondering, siempre hace sol en mi cocina.....salud

75 IBU barleywine. Sweet, roasty, molasses, with a lingering bitterness. Pretty rich stuff, it'll do.

A tad too bitter overall but it does have a nice sweetness upfront and is obviously boozy! Thank you John!

Pretty good now; thinking it will be really good in a few years.

Big hop aroma/taste but I’m not sure the base of the beer is all that good. This was a tough call between 3.75 & 4.0

Not a bad barleywine. Kinda more subtle than I might expect. Curious how this one will age.

hop bitterness with subtle floral notes, vague dark fruit candy sweetness, moderate malt presence.

I forgot this was a barrel-wine. Caught me way off guard😂. After discovering it was not a stout, I was able to enjoy the flavor and appreciate the hop after taste and malt, roast finish.

Not bad, expected more traditional barleywine. More woodsy, bitter flavor similar to a black IPA.
