It really does taste like a highball! Sweet ginger ale and whiskey!

Tastes a little better than the “old fashioned” barleywine at Founders

I love beer (esp. high octane beers) and i love old fashioneds! Founders really should have just called this Ali's beer 😆 please make this forever 🙏

Struggling with rating this one. Trying to wrap my head around the flavor profile. I will have it again and see if my thoughts change on the taste.

Founders as hit it out of the park. Full bodied. Essence of fruit. Smooth finish.

Use a tumbler glass. It's closer to the flavor of a well made cocktail. This is to be savored and sipped. Bourbon, vanilla, oak, mixed with sweet malt. Boozy aroma but not overpowering and mild in taste. A true brewed treasure.

Quite tasty. Boozy. Great sipping beer. Alcohol is not overwhelming, yet it’s 11%.

Bottled 7.7.21: She foamed up pretty good while pouring out. Amber bodied brew with some bourbon-boozy aromas. Body is definitely sweet and bourbon/whiskey reminiscent. Maybe a touch too sweet for my own liking, but hits on the head for Old Fashioned.

Whew, powerful stuff! The orange and cherry are on the nose and hit you right away. Then the vanilla and bourbon round it out. Dang near just like an OF 😮

Thought I would be more impressed. I wouldn’t buy another for $20.

Not as good as the Bells Holiday Old Fashioned. Maybe cold it'll be better. But at 11%, a one and done . Really boozy taste

Brown plus bourbon aging brings out notes of a barleywine due to the dark fruit notes. Complex. Would not have said Founders made this. Unique.

Bourbon barrel aged? Or bourbon injected? I don’t really taste the fruit though.

I think they left some bourbon in the barrels they aged this in.
